$40 -$45/hr We have an immediate opening for a Windows / VMware / Storage Engineer based in Wichita, Kansas. This is a contract opportunity for a highly skilled infrastructure professional to support and enhance enterprise IT environments, ensuring reliability, performance, and scalability of critical systems. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining Windows Server environments, including installation, configuration, patching, and upgrades across versions such as 2016, 2019, and 2022. You will administer VMware infrastructure, working with ESXi, vSphere, and vCenter for virtual machine provisioning, performance tuning, and system optimization. Additionally, you will handle enterprise storage solutions, including SAN and NAS systems, focusing on backup and recovery, replication, and capacity planning. You will proactively monitor system performance, ensure high availability, and troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues across Windows, virtualization, and storage layers. You will also implement security best practices, ensure compliance with IT policies, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support ongoing improvements and project delivery. Maintaining accurate documentation for system configurations, processes, and procedures will be an essential part of your responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Windows Server environments, VMware platforms (ESXi, vCenter), and storage technologies such as SAN, NAS, and RAID. Experience with backup tools like Veeam, along with a solid understanding of networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP), is required. Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills are critical for success in this role. Preferred candidates will have certifications such as Microsoft Certified, VMware VCP, or storage-related credentials. Experience with cloud platforms like Azure or AWS and scripting knowledge (PowerShell) will be an added advantage. You should possess excellent communication skills, the ability to work independently, and a strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
