Description We are seeking a software engineer who provides support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of Information Technology (IT) systems. Manages IT system infrastructure and any processes related to these systems. Provides support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all of the client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc. Provides Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems. Provides support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers. Provides support for the dispatch system and hardware problems and remains involved in the resolution process. Configures and manages UNIX and Windows operating systems and installs/loads operating system software, troubleshoots, maintains integrity and configures network components along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance. Provide system support to a software development program Provide set-up, configuration, and software installation for development, test, and production systems Interface directly with development team as well as system end users Manage a Red Hat Linux environment Provide end user support, patch support, and updates Assist with system specifications and configuration Provide weekly status report on activities completed and current/ongoing projects Ensure systems comply with existing enterprise licensing agreements Manage audit and logs and system backups Script common SA functions Manage operating system level services Coordinate activities as required with a virtual server group Ensure systems are kept in required configuration profile, including patch maintenance, changes as required by evolvement of production environments, updating software and software configurations Troubleshoot Linux systems identifying hardware, software (both OS and application level), and networking issues Assume other duties / projects as they arise and be responsive to the needs of the department Other Duties As assigned Clearance A current Top-Secret/SCI with polygraph security clearance is required. Candidates cannot be sponsored or nominated for a government security clearance under this position. Experience Ten (10) years' experience as a SA in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required. Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Five (5) years of additional SA experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
Required skills:
Needs AWS experience Minimum Five years' experience with installation, maintenance, administration, and troubleshooting of LAN, WAN, computer hardware and software Experience with Linux System administration to include RPM install/upgrade, starting/stopping/monitoring services, and familiarity with Kickstart procedures Experience performing, and assisting with, equipment specification, setup, problem resolution, network support, etc., related to computer hardware and software; and providing assistance to users Experience ensuring licensing agreements and system currency Experience with Unix administration Knowledge of performance tuning Understanding of security hardening procedures and implementation Experience scripting common SA functions Experience with VMWare and configuring virtual machines Requires networking skills plus knowledge and ability to maintain multi-domain networks Determine system optimizations Benefits Erias Ventures provides a complete package of wealth, health, and happiness benefits. The expected salary range for this position, depending on education and years of experience is $175,000 - $225,000.
