CE:
Professional (or expert) level certificate for supported technology as approved by the COR. Preferred Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) and/or equivalent experience. Experience Four (4) years of progressive experience demonstrating the required proficiency. Degree/Education Bachelor's Degree and/or Equivalency. Functional Responsibility Design, test, upgrade and integrate new or existing information networks such as local area networks (LAN), Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), intranets, extranets, and other communications networks in accordance to the organization's business requirements. Document all aspects of the engineering process as it relates to build and configuration, testing, and deployment of networks. Coordinate changes such as implementation of new networks, upgrades or version increments to existing networks with network administrators and stakeholders. Plans, coordinates, and implements security measures to safeguard new and existing networks. Performs network modeling, analysis, and planning. Coordinates with architecture, evaluates new and emerging network technologies, and make recommendations for selection of these products. Assists network administrators with complex troubleshooting issues and if needed coordinates vendor engagements to assists in troubleshooting efforts. May provide day-to-day operational or administrative duties for deployed networks in lab or production environments. Applies fundamental engineering concepts, processes, practices, and procedures on technical assignments. Ability to work with other senior technical and user staff to complete projects.
OTHER SILLS, TASKS AND RESPONSIBLITIES THAT SHALL BE PERFORMED BUT NOT LIMITED TO
Provide after-hours on-call and downtime support on rotational basis. Must be able to work on feet for extended periods of time. Must be able to install network equipment. Must be able to lift 40 pounds. May be required to utilize ladders up to 10 feet in height in the performance of their duties Fiber and copper cabling related support for B11, B54, B55 and as requested by leadership in other buildings.
