Job Description:
The Lead Network Engineer will support Health Resources & Services Administration (HRSA) projects by providing technical leadership and hands-on expertise in the design, implementation, and management of enterprise network infrastructure. This role works closely with Project Managers and cross-functional teams to deliver complex initiatives, ensuring high availability, security, and performance of network systems. The ideal candidate is both a strong technical expert and a collaborative team player who can lead and mentor staff while driving project success.
HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
Lead the design, planning, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise LAN/WAN, Zscaler, and network security infrastructureLead a team of network engineers, working directly with client counterpartCoach and provide guidance to less-experienced professionalsConfigure and manage routers, switches, firewalls, and remote access systems in support of secure and scalable network operationsImplement and support RSA Secur

Authentication Manager solutions, including integration with VPNs, RADIUS, and enterprise authentication systemsDesign, implement, and troubleshoot IPv4 and IPv6 network architectures, ensuring seamless integration and scalability across environmentsProvides innovative methods and technical solutions using the engineering design process. Collaborate closely with Project Managers, engineers, and stakeholders to deliver complex network projects on time and within scopeAnalyze customer and business requirements to develop technical solutions for complex networking challengesEnsure network integrity, security, and compliance with federal and organizational policies, including backup and recovery capabilitiesMonitor network performance using industry-leading tools, proactively identifying and resolving issuesPlan and execute network upgrades, enhancements, and technology refresh initiativesEvaluate and recommend emerging technologies to improve network performance, security, and scalabilityCoordinate procurement of network hardware, software, and vendor/subcontractor services as neededDevelop and maintain network documentation, diagrams, and standard operating procedures.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.10+ years' experience in network engineering, as described below5+ years' experience leading a team of network engineers and working directly with client counterpartProven ability to lead teams and manage technical efforts in complex environmentsExperience supporting federal or enterprise-level IT environments Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills

This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
