Hidalgo@stefanini.com for faster processing. Thank you! We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Mid to Senior Network Engineer to join our infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will be a subject matter expert in Extreme Networks solutions, responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining a robust, scalable, and high-performance network environment. While the primary focus is on Extreme Networks routing, switching, and wireless technologies, proficiency in Fortinet and Palo Alto security platforms is essential to support our integrated security and networking strategy. Key Responsibilities Design, deploy, and manage enterprise-grade network solutions using Extreme Networks hardware and software, including Fabric Connect (SPB), VSP, and ERS series switches. Architect and maintain high-density wireless environments using ExtremeCloud IQ and ExtremeWireless access points and controllers. Configure and troubleshoot advanced routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, IS-IS) and switching technologies (VLANs, MLAG, STP) within an Extreme-centric environment. Manage and optimize network security posture by configuring and maintaining Fortinet FortiGate and Palo Alto Next-Generation Firewalls (NGFW). Perform regular network monitoring, performance tuning, and capacity planning to ensure 99.9% uptime and optimal user experience. Lead network-related projects from conception to completion, including hardware refreshes, site expansions, and technology migrations. Provide Tier 3 escalation support for complex network and security issues, participating in an on-call rotation as needed. Maintain comprehensive documentation of network architecture, IP addressing, and security policies. Required Qualifications and Skills 5-8+ years of experience in network engineering with a focus on enterprise-scale environments. Deep technical expertise with Extreme Networks routing and switching (XOS, VOSS, SLX) and Extreme Management Center (XMC/ExtremeCloud IQ - Site Engine). Proven experience designing and managing Extreme Wireless solutions in complex, high-density environments. Strong secondary experience with Fortinet (FortiOS) and Palo Alto (PAN-OS) firewall administration, including VPNs, security profiles, and NAT. Solid understanding of core networking concepts: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SNMP, and packet analysis using tools like Wireshark. Experience with network automation and scripting (Python, Ansible) is a significant plus. Relevant certifications such as Extreme Networks Associate/Professional (ECS/ECP), CCNP, or
PCNSA/NSE
4+ are highly preferred. Soft Skills Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with a high attention to detail. Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively. A collaborative mindset with a commitment to mentoring junior team members. #
