Permanent (open to long‑term contract if required)Role OverviewWe're seeking an experienced Building Automation Controls Engineer with strong Tridium Niagara (N4) expertise to support the design, programming, commissioning, and optimisation of BAS projects across commercial and industrial facilities in Minnesota. This role suits a hands‑on engineer who can own systems end‑to‑end and act as a technical authority on site.

Key ResponsibilitiesEngineer, program, and commission Tridium Niagara N4 BAS solutionsDevelop and modify control logic, graphics, alarms, trends, and databasesIntegrate third‑party systems via BACnet, Modbus, and IP protocolsSupport system architecture, controller selection, and network designLead commissioning activities, functional testing, and client handoverTroubleshoot complex BAS and HVAC control issuesReview sequences of operation and ensure alignment with design intentMentor junior technicians and provide technical guidanceCollaborate with project managers, mechanical contractors, and clientsRequired Experience & Skills5+ years of Building Automation / Controls Engineering experienceStrong hands‑on experience with Tridium Niagara (N4)Solid HVAC systems knowledge (AHUs, VAVs, chillers, boilers, plant rooms)Experience with system upgrades, retrofits, and expansionsAbility to read and develop control drawings and sequencesComfortable working independently on complex projectsPreferred / Nice to HaveNiagara N4 CertificationExperience with Distech, Honeywell, Siemens, or JCI integrationsCommissioning or lead‑engineer backgroundExposure to healthcare, higher education, or mission‑critical facilitiesWhat's on OfferCompetitive salary aligned with senior‑level Minnesota market ratesStrong project pipeline and long‑term stabilityHigh‑impact engineering role with autonomyClear progression into Senior Engineer / Lead / SME positionsSupportive, technically driven team environment
