AI and Automation Intern Innovative Automations, LLC Kansas City, MO or Branson/Springfield, MO | $21.00/hr | In-Person About Innovative Automations Innovative Automations is an AI and automation consulting firm helping mid-market businesses and their technology partners build real, measurable AI strategy. We are not a tools company. We audit, govern, strategize, and build. Our in-house automation engineers design and deploy workflows using various AI and automation platforms like N8N, Rewst, Bolt, Claude Code and others. Everything we do is tied to a measurable business outcome. We are early-stage, fast-moving, and looking for people who want to grow with us. The Role We are looking for an AI and Automation Intern who is curious, coachable, and ready to build real skills in a real business environment. This is not a research internship. You will work alongside our team on live client engagements, internal tools, and automation builds from day one. The right candidate has some hands-on experience with AI tools or automation platforms and understands the basics of how workflows connect. What matters more than what you already know is how you learn. We have our own processes and platforms, and we need someone who can adapt to how we work, not someone who insists on how they have always worked. We will invest in your growth. What You Will Do Support the design and build of automation workflows using platforms in our stack Assist with client AI readiness assessments, audits, and discovery documentation Help develop and test AI-assisted processes, prompt structures, and integration workflows Contribute to internal tooling, templates, and repeatable delivery assets Shadow client engagements and participate in strategy sessions to understand the full service lifecycle Document builds, processes, and results in a way that makes the next iteration faster Flag problems early and ask questions. We move fast and we need people who speak up What We Are Looking For Required Hands-on experience with at least one AI tool or automation platform, whether through coursework, personal projects, or prior work Genuine curiosity about how AI and automation solve real business problems, not just technical problems Strong written communication. You will be working on client-facing materials Ability to follow a process, document what you did, and improve it the next time Willingness to learn our platforms and our approach, even if you have done it differently before Located in or willing to commute to the Kansas City or Branson/Springfield, MO area Nice to Have Familiarity with workflow automation tools such as N8N, Make, Zapier, or Rewst Experience with AI platforms including ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or similar Basic understanding of APIs and how systems connect Exposure to Python, JavaScript, or scripting in any language Experience with vibe-coding tools such as Bolt, Cursor, or Claude Code Coursework or a degree in progress in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Technology, or a related field What We Offer $21.00 per hour, paid Hands-on work with real clients and live automation builds from day one Direct mentorship from the founders and senior team Exposure to the full AI services lifecycle, from discovery and audit through build and delivery A path to a full-time role for candidates who perform and fit the culture A small team environment where your work is visible and your contributions matter
