None Position Summary:
The Automation Engineer is responsible for the design, development, commissioning, and support of industrial automation and control systems for Weber equipment and integrated production lines. The role supports North American projects while collaborating with global engineering teams to deliver scalable, reliable, and maintainable software solutions across multiple PLC platforms. Duties and Responsibilities Design and develop PLC, HMI, motion control, and safety control software. Configure and integrate third-party equipment into complete production line solutions. Participate in machine commissioning, FATs, SATs, and startup activities. Troubleshoot and resolve automation, controls, and communication issues. Support standardization and modularization of software architecture. Collaborate with global engineering teams to ensure alignment with corporate standards. Create and maintain technical documentation, software specifications, and commissioning reports. Provide technical support to service, applications, and modifications teams. Support continuous improvement initiatives for machine performance and software quality.

Drive quick problem solution by facilitating communication with German software development team Duties as assigned Required Skills and Abilities Experience programming PLC-based automation systems required. Knowledge of
IEC 61131-3
programming standards required. Experience with industrial networking and communications (Ethernet/IP, Profinet, OPC UA, Modbus TCP, etc.) required Siemens TIA Portal and S7 PLC experience preferred. Schneider Electric EcoStruxure Machine Expert experience preferred. Beckhoff TwinCAT experience preferred. Motion control and servo systems experience preferred. Machine safety systems experience preferred. Systematical problem-solving ability in combination with proper time management are essential. Ability to understand pneumatic and electrical controls and machine design is essential. Familiarity with object-oriented programming preferred Experience in commissioning full lines and individual machines is preferred Ability to make software changes following a predefined standard is preferred Excellent understanding of modular and scalable programming methods Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills. Must have the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from clients, customers and upper management. Employee must be personable with excellent communication skills - written and verbal. Ability to work in a team environment will be essential. German as a second language would be a benefit Education and Experience Bachelor/Master degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science or 3 years of proven work experience in a related field. Other Requirements Must have a valid and unrestricted driver's license. Real ID-compliant driver's license or other TSA approved alternative form of identification required for travel. Valid U.S. passport or have the ability to obtain one. Must have the ability to frequently travel within North America and Germany occasionally.
