Software Engineer (Mainframe Automation) - Hybrid#26-04367 Columbus, OH Minneapolis, MN Charlotte, NC On-site Contract Starts 5/26/2026 Ends 11/26/2027 Job Description Genesis10 is currently seeking a Software Engineer (Mainframe Automation) - Hybrid position with a Global Financial Institution located in Columbus, OH, Minneapolis, MN, or Charlotte, NC. This is an 18+ month contract opportunity. This role will function as an automation engineer, supplementing the efforts of technology teams who are updating and adding automated features as part of a larger transformation project. The selected candidate will support core team members as they move items from manual processes to automated processes to update legacy technology. The work arrangement is hybrid, requiring 3 days onsite and 2 days remote per week.
Responsibilities:
Consult on or participate in moderatelyplex initiatives and deliverables within Software Engineering Contribute to large-scale planning related to Software Engineering deliverables Review and analyze moderatelyplex Software Engineering challenges that require an in-depth evaluation of variable factors Contribute to the resolution of moderatelyplex issues and consult with others to meet deliverables Analyze user and business requirements and translate them into technical design specifications Collaborate with cross-functional teams (analysts, testers, operations) throughout the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, bugs, and production incidents in a timely manner
Requirements:
4+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or abination of the following: work or consulting experience, training, military experience, or education Hands-on experience with CA7 scheduler job automation Hands-on experience debugging independently Extensive hands-on working experience with Hogan mainframe systems (Hogan CIS, Hogan Umbrella, Hogan Deposits) Experience creating JCLs, COBOL, REXX, and SORT utilities Experience with DB2 and IMS Strong SQL skills Ability to work effectively at an enterprise level Desired skills: IT Project Management experience or skills Pay range: $59.53 - $67.53 per hour Only candidates available and ready to work directly as Genesis10 employees will be considered for this position.
