Network Deployment and Operations Engineer

What does the ideal candidate look like?

• Experience in IP or Optical network deployment, with a focus on program management, process improvement, and technical expertise.
• Proven track record of delivering large-scale IP or Optical network infrastructure projects on time, within budget, and to required quality standards.
• Strong technical expertise in IP or Optical networking protocols, architectures, and technologies. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing multiple projects and deadlines.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in data-driven decision making.

Day to day:

• Provide technical and operational guidance and oversight to IP or Optical network deployments ensuring that projects are delivered on time and with quality.
• Facilitate technical discussions with cross-functional teams to identify solutions, mitigate risks, and drive innovation.
• Build and execute comprehensive deployment program scope, schedules, resource allocation, and ensure successful delivery of IP or Optical network deployment projects.
• Define, track, and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) such as deployment speed, quality, efficiency, and SLAs to measure program success.
• Manage relationships with vendors and partners, ensuring that they meet contractual obligations and deliver high-quality services.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders including Data center engineers, Network engineers, and operations, to ensure alignment and effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.
• Establish and maintain regular reporting to senior management and stakeholders, providing insights into program performance, risks, and opportunities.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Technical expertise with IP or Optical networking protocols, architectures and technologies including BGP, TCP/IP, SNMP, GRE, or MPLS.
• Operational Efficiency to manage large-scale network deploy

Network technology background. Technical program management background. Operations excellence (operating at scale through metrics, KPI). Someone who has done network at scale (Amazon, Microsoft, Google). Data center and edge networking background. Network design and architectural work.

Education/Experience:

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field. 10+ years of experience in IP or Optical network deployment, with a focus on program management, process improvement, and technical expertise.
