Posting Summary Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Telecommunications Analyst III in the Enterprise Infrastructure within the Office of Information Technology (OIT). Reporting to the Managing Telecommunications Analyst, the Telecommunications Analyst III (Telecom Analyst Construction) oversees the deployment, upgrade, and maintenance of communication networks (like fiber optics or wireless towers). They act as the central point of contact for a project, bridging the gap between telecom engineers and on-site field contractors to ensure everything is completed safely. This position also supports assisting with telecommunication infrastructure design and project execution using internal and external resources. Must possess good communication skills and the ability to work with team members and clients to gather technical details to support project planning and completion within established schedules. This position requires a working knowledge of construction and electrical codes pertaining to telecommunications design to help ensure infrastructure is deployed in accordance with Industry and Rutgers codes and standards. The telecommunications analyst III assists with site visits to monitor construction progress and report field changes as needed. Among the key duties of this position are the following: Assist the Project Manager, staff, and contracted vendors with the setup, design, and build of telecommunication infrastructure throughout the three main campuses (New Brunswick, Newark, and Camden) and several remote sites. Ensures Rutgers standards are followed. Working with the Project Manager, participates in the coordination and implementation of telecommunication construction work for building wiring projects throughout the university. Work with team members, contracted labor, and customers to assist in the design and installation of cabling systems that meet customer needs and University standards. Assists the Project Manager in tracking telecommunication inventory and supporting budget-related activities for the Telecommunication Construction Management and Network Installation Group. Help maintain estimating and billing databases and support equipment tracking and deployment efforts. Participate in the engineering and design of the University standards-based voice/data/video network. Support evaluation of products and documentation of standards under supervision. Handles the coordination and support for wireless upgrades across multiple campuses. Help track equipment, support installation logistics, and assist with proper disposal of retired assets.

Equivalent education, experience and/or training may be substituted for the degree requirements. Must possess a valid NJ driver's license. Standing, sitting, walking, talking or hearing. No special vision requirements. Ability to remove and replace ceiling tiles, and work above the ceiling. Ability to move computer and fax equipment, desks, and furniture to access wall outlets. Ability to lift and carry 60lbs and climb a 6-foot ladder. Ability to operate hand and power tools as they relate to the installation of 32-98-inch wall mounted displays. Ability to work in tight spaces and be able to pull and punch down cabling.
