Job Description

ACDS, Inc ., a respected non-profit agency, is seeking a full-time Self-Direction Review Specialist for its growing Fiscal Intermediary (FI) Department in Nassau County, Long Island, NY. A minimum of 2 years of experience working with OPWDD and Self-Direction services required. $1,000 SIGN-ON
BONUS FOR ALL NEW HIRES!
$500 awarded upon successful completion of the 90-day introductory period in good standing. An additional $500 awarded after 6 months of employment. Overview The Self-Direction Review Specialist is responsible for overseeing the pre-approval process within Self-Direction services under OPWDD guidelines. This role ensures timely and accurate review of requests and supports compliance with all applicable regulations. The Specialist exercises sound judgment in decision-making and plays a key role in maintaining efficient operations. Responsibilities for the SD Review Specialist (Self-Direction/OPWDD) include: Maintain a strong working knowledge of Self-Direction and OPWDD policies and procedures Review pre-approval requests and related communications to ensure timely reviews Monitor team workflow to ensure deadlines and performance standards are consistently met Review and evaluate appeals, attend Appeal Committee meetings for input during determinations Attend and actively participate in LIFI Class Committee meetings Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal procedures Exercise sound judgment and problem-solving skills in complex or time-sensitive situations Qualifications 2 years Experience working with OPWDD and Self-Direction services required Strong organizational, time management, and decision-making skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines Proficiency in relevant systems (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, and ability to learn EVERO (HER) Associates or Bachelors degree preferred, High School diploma required
