Job Description

Network and Systems Engineer 4161 Lancaster, Pennsylvania Infrastructure Hourly Job Description Overview GDC is currently seeking a Network and Systems Administrator to work in a full-time capacity in Lancaster, PA. As a Network and Systems Administrator, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and security of the firm's IT infrastructure, supporting architectural and engineering workflows while ensuring high system availability, performance, and security. Responsibilities Lead the design, implementation, maintenance, and security of network systems, servers, cloud platforms, and end-user environments. Administer and continuously improve cloud, network, server, and endpoint security, software, and policies. Manage and maintain all IT systems, including telecommunications, servers, PCs, operating systems, hardware, software, and peripherals. Oversee cloud services and integrations, including email platforms and third-party tools such as Egnyte and Sophos. Analyze business and user needs and recommend scalable technical solutions aligned with organizational goals. Collaborate with leadership to define system requirements and implement new technologies. Develop, review, and enforce IT policies, procedures, and best practices. Maintain network infrastructure performance through upgrades, monitoring, and compliance with licensing requirements. Manage IT financials, including budgeting, purchasing, and cost optimization strategies. Negotiate and manage vendor, consultant, and service provider contracts and relationships. Maintain backup systems and ensure regular testing for reliability and disaster recovery readiness. Provide on-call support for network outages and emergency response situations. Support and maintain phone systems and related vendor relationships. Deliver technical support, troubleshooting, and training to staff across the organization. Assist with website maintenance and updates as needed. Stay current with emerging technologies, cybersecurity trends, and industry best practices. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field. 7-10 years of experience in network and systems administration, preferably in a multi-office environment. Extensive experience managing IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, and cloud environments. Strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles, protocols, and best practices. Proven ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and implement effective solutions. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and related tools. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills. Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond effectively in a fast-paced environment. Experience with SharePoint. Experience supporting architectural or engineering environments. Familiarity with cloud-based collaboration and file-sharing platforms. Experience managing IT budgets and vendor relationships. Demonstrated ability to train and support end users in technical environments.
