Title:
Automation Project Engineer Position Overview We are seeking a highly motivated and versatile engineer to join our dynamic team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in the fast-paced and ever-evolving field of automation engineering. You will be engaged in various aspects of automation, including electrical design, PLC programming, HMI screen design, and automation software development. The ideal candidate will have a broad skill set, a passion for innovative technologies, and the ability to collaborate across multiple engineering disciplines. This role will provide invaluable exposure to different engineering fields and require you to understand mechanical or process systems to optimize their operation through advanced control strategies.Key Responsibilities Project Participation and Leadership :
Lead and manage small to medium-sized automation projects from concept to completion. Coordinate the work of cross-functional teams, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. Provide guidance to junior engineers and technicians, fostering teamwork and professional development.Electrical Design Suppor t:
Assist in creating detailed electrical CAD drawings for instrumentation and control systems. Ensure designs meet project specifications, regulatory standards, and industry best practices, with an emphasis on safety and efficiency.PLC Programming :
Develop, test, and implement PLC programs to control automation systems, focusing on performance optimization, reliability, and scalability. Ensure that all programming meets the required safety, reliability, and operational standards.HMI Design :
Design intuitive and user-friendly HMI (Human-Machine Interface) screens to facilitate smooth control and monitoring of automation systems. Maintain high standards of usability, clarity, and functionality, making sure that operators can quickly interpret system status and take appropriate actions.Automation Software Development :
Participate in the development, testing, and deployment of automation software solutions. Ensure integration with PLCs, HMIs, sensors, and other control systems for seamless operation. Collaborate on software architecture and design to enhance system performance.System Integration :
Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth integration of electrical, mechanical, and software components into a unified automation solution. This includes coordinating with teams across departments to ensure full alignment of system requirements and functional capabilities.Troubleshooting and Support :
Provide hands-on technical support for commissioning, startup, and troubleshooting of automation systems. Offer both on-site and remote support, quickly diagnosing issues and implementing solutions to minimize downtime.Documentation :
Create and maintain detailed technical documentation for all designs, programs, and system configurations. Ensure documentation is clear, complete, and up to date for internal stakeholders and future reference.Continuous Improvement :
Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering practices by researching and adopting emerging technologies in the automation field. Share knowledge and best practices to help improve team performance and system capabilities.Safety and Compliance :
Ensure all designs, systems, and operations adhere to safety standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices. Foster a culture of safety and compliance within the engineering team.Project Management :
Take ownership of automation projects, including managing project timelines, budgets, and resources. Develop detailed project plans, track milestones, and ensure that project deliverables are completed to specifications. Communicate project progress and updates to stakeholders regularly.Client Interaction and Reporting :
Interface with clients to understand their project requirements, provide technical guidance, and present project updates. Ensure that clients are kept informed and satisfied with project milestones, deliverables, and results.Preferred Qualifications Education :
Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering, or a related field.Experience :
1-5 years of experience in an engineering or technical role, with exposure to PLC programming, HMI design, electrical design, and software development. Skills Basic proficiency in CAD software for electrical design Hands-on experience with PLC programming or coding Familiarity with control and process systems Knowledge of software development and system integration Willingness to learn multi-disciplines Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment Project Management experience Compensation $105,000- 150,000 base salary + bonus potential (based on expereince, and technical expertise) Location This is a Hybrid position that requires on site travel to customer sites.
