Job Description

Requirements:
Must be a U.S. Citizen and provide proof of U.S. citizenship. Must have no criminal history. Must be federal tax compliant and be subject to periodic tax compliance validation. Must pass a drug test with negative result and be subject to random drug testing. Must successfully complete and maintain a federal Public Trust background investigation with Suitability/Fitness process and a position sensitivity at the level of High Risk (HR), which includes an FBI criminal history record check (fingerprint check). Must demonstrate fluency in English. Must demonstrate proficiency in Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other productivity software. Must be able to work with minimal supervision. Be able to report on-site at least 3 days/week. 2+ years of experience as a Junior Network Engineer.
Additional Requirements Information:
Must complete an SF-85(P). Required to work 40 hours a week (business hours) excluding federal holidays and paid time-off. This position is full telework with ability to travel to customer sites as needed. Salary must be payable by Direct Deposit. Must not have any foreign bank accounts without disclosure and explanation. Must not have simultaneous employment or operations of any other business without disclosure and explanation. Employment of any candidate will be contingent on obtaining/maintaining Staff-Like Access with the government agency. Must have filed all required tax returns and paid all taxes due or be current on a payment plan for taxes due. Contractor employees must remain tax compliant while actively working on IRS contracts. Must go through a Personal Identity Verification (PIV) process that requires two forms of identification from the Form I-9. Federal law requires verification of the identity and employment eligibility of all new hires in the U.S. These documents must be unexpired original or certified copies.
Required Self-checks:
Must review federal tax status and verify compliance at "Get Your Tax Record" (https://www.irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript). Males born after December 31, 1959, must certify registration with Selective Service System or have a documented exemption (https://www.sss.gov/verify/).
Qualifications:
CCNA required or must be obtained within 6 months. Must be able to work independently to remotely configure, deploy, backup, and upgrade routers, switches, and wireless access points. Must be able to work independently to troubleshoot application issues such as Office 365, Exchange, Skype/Teams, SharePoint, Mobile Device Management platform, VMWare, Hyper-V, NetBackup, NetApp, HPE Servers, Dell Servers, Web applications, HTTP(S), SMB, CIFS, Printing, Remote Desktop, etc. Must be able to work independently to identify and troubleshoot issues with DNS, DHCP, PXE, DMVPN, 802.1x, ARP, SNMPv3, Syslog, NTP, VLAN Tagging, Spanning-Tree. Must be able to work independently to remotely configure, deploy, and upgrade Cisco switches and routers
  • IOS, IOS-XE, Nexus NX-OS. Must be able to work independently to remotely configure, deploy, and upgrade Fortinet devices
  • Fortigate/FortiSwitch/FortiAP/FortiOS.
Must be able to work independently to remotely configure, deploy, and upgrade HP/Aruba wireless devices. Must be able to work independently to remotely configure, deploy, and upgrade Infoblox DDI. Must be able to work independently to remotely configure, deploy, and upgrade F5 Load Balancers. Must be able to work independently to configure and monitor Forescout CounterACT. Must be able to work independently to effectively use network automation tools for monitoring, configuration, and backups. Must have a solid understanding of OSI model and TCP/IP model. Must have a solid understanding of IPv4
  • Subnetting, EIGRP, BGP, OSPF, GRE, IPSEC, Access Lists, Etherchannel/Link Aggregation, VLAN. Must have a solid understanding of IPv6

Must be able to read, interpret, and implement
FISMA, NIST, DISA
STIG, and IRM requirements. Must be able to independently perform after-work hours maintenance. Must notify team, department, and users of issues, maintenance, and/or absence. Must attend virtual meetings. Must have effective communication with team members.
