About TRPB The Thoroughbred Racing Protective Bureau (TRPB) is a licensed private investigative agency based in Maryland. The TRPB provides specialized services to TRA racetracks, regulatory agencies and other horse racing associations under contract. These services include wagering security, investigative support, analytics, equine identification and information management services. TRPB's mission is to protect the integrity of the sport, safeguard legitimate business interests and promote public confidence in Thoroughbred racing. Position Overview TRPB is seeking a Junior Agent / Equine Analyst to join the Fair Hill Office's Horse Identification & Investigations Department. This is an entry-level role offering hands-on experience in equine identification, investigative support and industry data analysis. The position reports to the Senior Agent/Technician Manager and works closely with staff and field technicians across North America. Key Responsibilities Support Horse Identification operations as assigned by the Senior Agent Race card audits to ensure all first-time starters are assigned for Digital Tattoo® processing Assist Digital Tattoo® technicians with photo capture, documentation and troubleshooting (phone and online support) Coordinate logistics, including shipment of equipment to technicians across the United States and Canada Assist with compliance efforts to ensure adherence to established identification standards Conduct background research on racing participants using various databases and reporting tools Analyze horse racing data to understand connections, ownership and history Build and maintain professional relationships with industry participants Perform additional duties as assigned Support Horse Identification operations as assigned by the Senior Agent Race card audits to ensure all first-time starters are assigned for Digital Tattoo® processing Assist Digital Tattoo® technicians with photo capture, documentation and troubleshooting (phone and online support) Coordinate logistics, including shipment of equipment to technicians across the United States and Canada Assist with compliance efforts to ensure adherence to established identification standards Conduct background research on racing participants using various databases and reporting tools Analyze horse racing data to understand connections, ownership and history Build and maintain professional relationships with industry participants Perform additional duties as assigned Required Qualifications Working knowledge of horses and/or the Thoroughbred racing industry Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) Strong written and verbal communication skills High level of attention to detail and organizational ability Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion Minimum of 5 years of experience in equine-related activities Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Ability to obtain and maintain a valid passport Must successfully pass a comprehensive background investigation conducted by TRPB Working knowledge of horses and/or the Thoroughbred racing industry Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) Strong written and verbal communication skills High level of attention to detail and organizational ability Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion Minimum of 5 years of experience in equine-related activities Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Ability to obtain and maintain a valid passport Must successfully pass a comprehensive background investigation conducted by TRPB Preferred Assets Associate degree from an accredited institution Experience working with contractors or distributed teams Familiarity with diverse populations within the racing industry Spanish language proficiency (written and/or verbal) Additional Requirements Eligibility to work in the United States (documentation required) Occasional travel to racetracks or industry locations may be required Must be able to perform physical tasks in equine areas, such as maintaining balance on uneven ground, working around sawdust & horse bedding, be able to lift at least 50 lbs. and take photos. Work Environment The TRPB Office is a smoke-free environment located in Maryland horse country, with a positive, creative and productive atmosphere. Professional development opportunities Normal office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM with some flexibility as support times may be prior to 8:30 am or after 5 pm. Dress code is casual but appropriate, for work responsibilities and assignments. After one year of employment, this position may be eligible for one day/week working from home.
Pay:
$54,000.00 - $56,000.00 per year
