Austin, TX (Hybrid CornerStone Technology Talent Services is partnering with a large enterprise organization seeking a Cloud Vulnerability Remediation Engineer to strengthen cloud security operations, reduce enterprise risk, and improve overall security posture. This role is ideal for a security professional with hands-on experience supporting cloud environments, vulnerability remediation, system hardening, and security compliance initiatives. You'll work alongside cloud engineering, security operations, infrastructure, and application teams to identify, prioritize, and remediate vulnerabilities across modern cloud platforms while ensuring operational stability and compliance. What You'll Be Doing As a key member of the cloud security team, you'll be responsible for identifying and resolving security vulnerabilities affecting cloud-hosted infrastructure and services. Core Responsibilities Analyze and prioritize vulnerabilities identified through enterprise security and vulnerability scanning platforms. Assess risk exposure across cloud infrastructure, platform services, operating systems, and supporting technologies.
Execute remediation activities including:
Security patching Configuration hardening Cloud security controls implementation Compensating controls where direct remediation is not immediately available Validate remediation efforts and ensure vulnerabilities are fully resolved. Perform cloud-based patching and maintenance activities while minimizing business disruption. Partner with cloud engineers, security teams, architects, and application owners to resolve complex security findings. Document remediation activities, technical findings, and change records to support compliance and audit requirements. Participate in change management processes and ensure remediation activities follow established governance standards. Provide remediation metrics, status updates, and supporting evidence for security reviews and audits. Identify recurring vulnerabilities, process inefficiencies, and technical debt, recommending long-term improvements. Contribute to initiatives that strengthen overall cloud security posture and operational resilience. Ideal Technical Background We're looking for professionals who understand how modern cloud environments operate and can effectively balance security, availability, and compliance. Required Experience 3+ years of IT experience with hands-on exposure to: Cloud infrastructure Systems administration Security operations Vulnerability remediation 3+ years supporting enterprise cloud environments. Experience implementing vulnerability remediation strategies including: Patching Security configuration management System hardening Risk mitigation controls Familiarity with ITSM and change management processes. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills. Ability to work independently while collaborating across multiple technical teams. Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Preferred Experience Exposure to enterprise vulnerability management programs and remediation SLAs. Experience working with cloud security posture management (CSPM) solutions. Knowledge of security baselines, compliance frameworks, and risk reporting. Experience supporting cloud environments such as: Microsoft Azure AWS Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Familiarity with security tools such as: Tenable Qualys Rapid7 Microsoft Defender Prisma Cloud Wiz Security or cloud certifications such as: Security+ CISSP CCSP Azure Security Engineer AWS Security Specialty What Makes This Opportunity Attractive Opportunity to make a measurable impact on enterprise security posture.
