Network Automation and Tools Engineer

Labcorp is seeking a Network Automation and Tools Engineer for a dynamic team in Durham or Burlington, NC.

Work Schedule:

This is a full-time, exempt (salaried) position assigned to a First Shift schedule, with standard business hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in your local time zone. Business needs may occasionally require flexibility in work hours, including earlier, later, or additional hours, with reasonable notice provided when possible.

Applicants who live within 35 miles of either the Burlington, NC or Durham, NC location will follow a hybrid schedule. This schedule includes a minimum of three in-office days per week at an assigned location, either Burlington or Durham, supporting both collaboration and flexibility.

Network Automation and Tools Engineer - Specialty in Tools and Network AutomationThe Network Automation and Tools Engineer plays a critical role in implementing modern and innovative network automation solutions for our internal teams. This is a highly technical role that is responsible for implementing Network to Code solutions that drive positive business outcomes for our users. We are looking for candidates that thrive on technological challenges and can work in a dynamic environment, providing automated solutions while integrating our suite of tools.

Job Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain network automation and tooling solutions to improve operational efficiency in alignment with our business AI strategyDevelop and integrate APIs with internal platforms, CMDBs, and source-of-truth systemsSupport and enhance CI/CD pipelines for network automation workflowsCollaborate with network engineering, infrastructure, and operations teams to translate requirements into automated solutionsTroubleshoot, enhance, and maintain automation platforms in Linux environmentsBuild Network as Code solutions using Python and automation frameworks

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree8 or more years' of experience in network automation, software development, or related engineering roles5 or more years' of experience programming in Python for automation or backend development2 or more years' experience working with APIs and integrating systems programmatically2 or more years' hands-on experience operating in Linux environments

Preferred Qualifications:

2 or more years' experience with JavaScript, Ansible, or similar automation tools2 or more years' experience with Docker, virtual environments, and containerized workflows2 or more years' experience with configuration templating tools such as Jinja or Velocity3 or more years' experience with enterprise networking hardware (switches, routers, firewalls, load balancers)CCNA or higher certification
