April 27, 2026 : Job Summary This position is located at the United States Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, NY. We are seeking a Network Engineer who can excel in a challenging and rewarding environment at the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy Headquarters. Responsibilities Design, implement, troubleshoot, analyze, and maintain Academy networks. Configure, test, and maintain LAN/WAN/DMZ/Wireless networks and related services. Identify, diagnose, and resolve network problems. Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all implemented networks, applications, and appliances. Work in a government environment utilizing NIST and FISMA standards. Qualifications Hands-on experience in a structured environment implementing and administering network devices, setting, and maintaining policies. Experience in configuring Cisco switches and routers. Ability to design, plan, establish, and optimize wireless networks. Experience with Aruba's architecture, including Wireless and Network Access Control. Proficiency in Nutanix Prism and Acropolis hypervisor management. Firewall and VPN configuration, management, and analysis skills. Experience with network access security tools. Proficiency in MS Server Active Directory and Group Policy Management. PowerShell scripting and implementation skills. Level 2 and Level 3 resolution experience in a Windows Server and Windows 11 environment. Strong verbal and written communication skills, including documentation. Excellent troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and network optimization skills. Team player willing to drive collaborative efforts across the organization to improve product quality, reduce expenses, and increase productivity. Bachelor's Degree required. 5-7 years of experience in a related field. Minimum one of the following certifications: CCNA or

CCNP, ITIL
