Job Description

We are seeking a Network Engineer for a 6-month staff augmentation engagement in San Diego, CA. This hybrid role will focus on the design, administration, troubleshooting, and optimization of enterprise network infrastructure, with an emphasis on Cisco networking technologies and Palo Alto firewalls .
Key Responsibilities:
Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Cisco routing, switching, and wireless environments. Administer and support Palo Alto firewalls, security policies, VPNs, and threat prevention features. Monitor network performance and security posture, identifying and resolving issues proactively. Support network upgrades, migrations, and infrastructure enhancement projects. Collaborate with internal IT and security teams to ensure secure, reliable connectivity across enterprise environments. Document configurations, procedures, and operational standards.
Required Qualifications:
5+ years of hands-on experience with Cisco networking technologies (routing, switching, VLANs, BGP, OSPF, TCP/IP). 3+ years of experience managing Palo Alto firewalls and security policies. Strong troubleshooting skills across LAN, WAN, VPN, and network security environments. Experience with network monitoring and management tools. Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Cisco certifications (CCNA, CCNP) and/or Palo Alto certifications (PCNSA, PCNSE). Experience with wireless networking, SD-WAN, or cloud networking environments. Exposure to security frameworks and enterprise security best practices.
