Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Network Engineer to join our team on-site. In this pivotal role, you will design, implement, and maintain robust network infrastructure to ensure seamless connectivity, security, and high availability across our organization. Your expertise in computer networking, network security, and system administration will drive the performance of our IT infrastructure, supporting critical business operations and enabling innovative solutions. Duties Design, deploy, and manage complex network architectures including LAN (Local Area Network), WAN (Wide Area Network), data centers, and cloud integrations such as AWS and Azure. Configure and troubleshoot network devices including Cisco routers, switches, ASA firewalls, Meraki access points, Juniper devices, and other network hardware. Implement and maintain security protocols using Cisco ISE (Identity Services Engine), PKI (Public Key Infrastructure), VPNs (Virtual Private Networks), IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems), and network encryption standards like SSL/TLS. Manage routing protocols such as OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, MPLS, ensuring optimal data flow and high availability across all network segments. Conduct vulnerability assessments using tools like SolarWinds or Splunk to identify potential security risks; develop mitigation strategies aligned with ITIL best practices. Support network monitoring through PRTG, SolarWinds, or similar tools to proactively identify issues before they impact operations. Perform system administration tasks on operating systems including Linux distributions (Debian, CentOS, Ubuntu), BSD variants, Windows Server environments, and macOS. Automate routine tasks with scripting languages such as Bash, PowerShell or Python; utilize Ansible for configuration management and deployment automation. Oversee network installation projects from planning through execution; ensure compliance with industry standards for high availability and disaster recovery. Collaborate with cross-functional teams on DevOps initiatives involving virtualization platforms like VMware vSphere or Citrix; support containerization efforts with Docker or similar tools. Experience Proven experience in computer networking with a strong understanding of TCP/IP protocols, DNS, DHCP, SFTP/FTP/HTTPS protocols. Hands-on knowledge of Cisco networking equipment including Cisco ASA firewalls and Meraki products; experience working with Juniper or other vendors is a plus. Familiarity with cloud security practices involving AWS or Azure environments; experience managing VPNs and remote access software is essential. Demonstrated ability to perform vulnerability assessments and implement network security measures effectively. Experience supporting data center environments with SAN (Storage Area Network) management and high availability configurations. Background in system administration across multiple operating systems—Windows Server, Linux (Ubuntu, CentOS), Solaris—and virtualization technologies such as VMware vSphere or Hyper-V. Strong scripting skills in Bash or PowerShell; experience with automation tools like Ansible is highly desirable. Knowledge of telecommunication systems including VoIP technologies; understanding of QoS (Quality of Service) principles for voice/video traffic is advantageous. Familiarity with ITIL framework for service management; experience working in Agile development environments enhances your fit for this role.
