•This is a Hybrid position (2-3 days on site in Cincinnati, Ohio).• About the Opportunity A growing engineering consulting firm is seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to join their Cincinnati team. This organization has built a strong reputation over ~30 years delivering high-impact automation and software solutions across industries including manufacturing, life sciences, and consumer products. With a collaborative, growth-oriented culture and a steady pipeline of complex projects, this is an opportunity to work on diverse, technically challenging automation systems while building long-term career growth in a consulting environment. What You'll Do Design, program, and commission industrial automation systems from concept through startup Develop PLC, HMI, and SCADA applications (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Ignition, etc.) Work directly with clients to gather requirements and deliver tailored solutions Lead and manage multiple projects, ensuring timelines and deliverables are met Support system architecture design and integration across hardware and software Travel to client sites for commissioning, troubleshooting, and support (typically 20-35%) Contribute to mentoring junior engineers and supporting team development What They're Looking For 5-7+ years of experience in industrial automation / controls engineering Strong PLC/HMI programming experience (Allen-Bradley and/or Siemens required) Experience in a systems integrator, OEM, or consulting environment Exposure to SCADA platforms (Ignition, FactoryTalk, etc.) Experience with commissioning, startup, and client-facing project work Ability to manage projects and communicate effectively with customers
Required:
