SENIOR NETWORK ENGINEER

(ALI) team, you will act in a consultative and hands-on role to support our clients with their existing Fortinet networks including LAN/WAN, Wireless, and Security requirements. Experience with Cisco and Meraki technologies is a plus. Working with other Engineers, you will be part of a team that builds strong relationships with customers, providing high-level technical support and voicing product use cases based on customer needs. This position is based in the Richmond, Virginia area. Pre-scheduled onsite travel throughout Virginia may be required. This position affords you the opportunity to work from home or at one of our regional offices when onsite client support is not required.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- RESPONSIBILITIES Support and lead efforts of the design, testing, evaluation and implementation of new systems architecture Architect, implement and support solutions using Business Continuity and Data Protection technologies Design and deploy enterprise wired and wireless network infrastructure across multi-site and campus environments, primarily using Fortinet technologies (Cisco/Meraki a plus) Implement and support SD-WAN solutions, primarily Fortinet (Cisco/Meraki a plus) Configure and manage network access control (NAC) and wireless security solutions, primarily Fortinet (Cisco/Meraki a plus) Work closely with OEM, break-fix and integration vendors during systems implementation and troubleshooting Assist with requirements gathering for proper design/installations Participate in meetings with customers, providing input on various initiatives Collaborate with third-party support and service vendors to ensure systems stay operational (support during an outage) Prepare client documentation including network designs, network assessments, implementation plans, and post-implementation documentation Follow up with client, provide feedback and see problems through to resolution Keep apprised of patches, latest technologies, and upcoming infrastructure installations Research new technologies
WHO YOU ARE
REQUIREMENTS
Active Fortinet NSE certification (any level)
- required Active Cisco or Meraki certification
- nice to have Extensive experience with Fortinet enterprise wireless design and deployment
- Fortinet (Cisco/Meraki in addition to Fortinet a plus) Hands-on experience with Fortinet network access control and wireless security solutions Proficiency with Fortinet switching (Cisco/Meraki a plus) Experience with Fortinet SD-WAN technologies (Cisco/Meraki a plus) Extensive firewall experience
- Fortinet (Cisco/Palo Alto a plus) Extensive routing experience (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, etc.) including configuration, redistribution and troubleshooting Familiarity with wireless site survey tools preferred Extensive packet capture experience
- fluent with Wireshark Able to work with minimal direction 5+ years of experience in enterprise networking (preferred)
