Contract Job Overview:
The VPN Network Engineer is responsible for configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining secure network infrastructure in a multi-data center environment. The role involves managing VPN connectivity, optimizing network performance, ensuring compliance with security standards, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to deliver reliable network services.
Requirement/Must Have:
Configuration and troubleshooting of IPSEC site-to-site VPNs. Ability to read, understand, and troubleshoot complex routing issues. Strong understanding of networking in a multi-data center environment. Ability to work with minimal guidance and seek assistance only on the most complex tasks. Strong communication skills with leadership, peers, project managers, clients, and stakeholders. Flexible work schedule with the ability to perform after-hours changes.
Responsibilities:
Configure and troubleshoot IPSEC site-to-site VPNs. Author technical documentation, including network diagrams. Monitor network performance and implement performance tuning when necessary. Diagnose connectivity problems and resolve network issues. Work closely with clients and vendors on the implementation of products and services. Ensure security and operational standards are maintained in accordance with compliance requirements, HIPAA standards, and industry best practices. Work independently with minimal guidance and seek assistance only on the most complex tasks. Communicate effectively with leadership, peers, project managers, clients, and stakeholders.
Should Have:
CCNP certification or higher, or equivalent experience. Experience installing and maintaining Cisco routers and switches. Experience managing Arista switches. Strong documentation skills and experience with tools such as Visio. Experience with scripting languages such as Python. Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects.
