Yoder's Building Services is the premier building materials and services supplier in the Upstate region of South Carolina, serving homebuilders, contractors, remodelers, and homeowners with materials and services of the highest quality.
Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Systems & Network Engineer to oversee the daily operations of our IT infrastructure, with a strong focus on Windows Server management and network design and administration . This role will be responsible for ensuring the stability, security, and performance of the organization's IT systems, working with a small team of IT professionals, and playing a hands-on role in designing and maintaining the network and server environment.
ONSITE IS REQUIRED

Key Responsibilities:
Manage IT resources to support business needs and IT infrastructure goals. Plan, deploy, and maintain Windows Server environments , including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and Hyper-V. Design, implement, and support enterprise-level network infrastructure , including LAN/WAN, firewalls, VPNs, switches, and routers. Monitor system and network performance and ensure high availability and acceptable levels of performance. Implement mobile device management strategies for cell phones and clients. Oversee patch management, backup and recovery, and disaster recovery processes. Develop and maintain IT procedures and documentation. Coordinate with vendors and service providers to support infrastructure needs. Support and train users as needed. Light travel and occasional evening or weekend work are required.
Requirements:
Required Qualifications:
4+ years of experience in IT operations, with a demonstrable ability to learn and grow. Proven hands-on experience with Windows Server 2016/2019/2022 , Active Directory, Group Policy, and PowerShell scripting. Strong knowledge of networking technologies such as TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching, firewalls (e.g., Cisco, pfSense, or Fortinet), and wireless infrastructure. Experience with virtualization platforms such as Hyper-V or VMware . Experience working with backup/disaster recovery solutions such as Veeam . Solid understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices. Excellent troubleshooting and project management skills. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Microsoft 365, Azure AD, or other cloud-based infrastructure platforms. Experience with Linux server patching and administration. Familiarity with monitoring tools, ITIL practices, and helpdesk systems.
