Job Description

The Chalmers Center for Economic Development is seeking a Practitioner Networks Coordinator to cultivate a growing network of ministry practitioners who embody a biblical framework for poverty alleviation. This role will be responsible for maintaining a collaborative and engaging network culture, stewarding network relationships, building and maintaining network operations, mobilizing network members for shared projects, arranging network events and regional gatherings, logging and tracking network activities, and supporting other teams at Chalmers as they engage network members. The Network Coordinator will report to the Director of Foundational Products. This role will be highly cross-functional, collaborating with other departments of Chalmers, including other product teams (in the U.S. and the majority world), senior leadership, and marketing, partnerships, and generosity. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in community development or other relevant field and at least 3-5 years relevant experience in cultivating networks, program management, or community development and poverty alleviation, demonstrating their ability to develop an engaged and collaborative network culture.
Responsibilities:
Network Building Commit to pray and advocate for those in poverty and for the church in light of the mission of the Chalmers Center. Connect and nurture relationships with and among community development practitioners who are joining Chalmers' practitioner network, including developing a standardized onboarding process for new members. Develop infrastructure for organizing and operationalizing key network elements with a goal of longer-term network and chapter growth. Communication and Facilitation Act as a key point of contact for Chalmers' network members and potential members, facilitating ongoing conversation within the network, practicing inclusion to ensure lapsed or inactive members are re-engaged and that no one sector or member dominates the network. Moderate user-generated content shared in the network platform(s) and deputize network members to work as curators for sector-specific content. Support Chalmers' staff team in engagement with network members, and facilitate integration of network components into other Chalmers' products and activities. Work with Chalmers' Director of Foundational Products, Marketing Specialist, and Curriculum and Training team to curate content and training resources for the network, translating Chalmers' biblical framework for addressing poverty and best practices in community development across a wide range of ministry sectors. Catalyze and Coordinate Action Identify and cultivate network members for support roles within the network, including community champions, project catalysts, relational connectors, sector-based subject matter experts, etc. Identify patterns and relational opportunities to connect various parts of the network—individuals, organizations, regions, sectors, and projects—together for aligned action. Catalyze and coordinate network-wide activities that facilitate engagement, integration, and capacity-building for both Chalmers and members, including events, collaborative projects, member-organized activities, etc. Use network maps to identify opportunities for connections among individuals, projects, sectors, or regions to better connect the network. Reporting & Capacity-building Provide regular, data-driven reports of activities toward program goals, and coordinate with Generosity team on grant/funding requests and reports about program activities. Coordinate execution of contracts and payments for Chalmers Ambassadors, Lead Trainers, and other contractors Provide logistics and technical support for all Foundational Products' trainings as requested Represent Chalmers at
Qualifications & Experience:
Follow Jesus, maintaining a vision for His kingdom and the embodied mission of His church Maintain passion to see Christians transformed in their understanding of and approach to material poverty Strong theological alignment with the Chalmers Center's vision for biblical poverty alleviation, prior knowledge of this framework through Chalmers' books or trainings is preferred Minimum 3-5 years experience building and nurturing networks, coalitions, or communities of practice Results-oriented personality, with demonstrated track record of completing projects and achieving interlocking goals with a broad range of stakeholders Cross-cultural ministry experience (domestically or internationally) preferred Conflict mediation skills and pastoral approach to solving complex interpersonal problems Capacity to identify patterns and strengthen connections among a variety of partners and stakeholders Curious and interested in learning and growth for continuous improvement Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills, including the ability to translate sector-specific or complex language to a variety of audiences Strong computer and program skills: Google Suite—including Gmail, Drive, Google Calendar, and Sheets—Zoom, Salesforce or other CRM software, experience with online learning management systems preferred Strong facilitation skills, both online (via video conferencing) and in person Self-motivated and entrepreneurial spirit to try new things and learn from mistakes Deep passion for building and supporting relationships; skilled in lifting up the work of others, often in a behind-the-scenes way Strong project-management skills including great attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage projects with many moving parts Ability to travel up to 5%
