Mechanical Engineer (Material Handling Automation) Lebanon, TN $30

  • Full-time, Contract We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer with experience in material handling systems to support the testing and commissioning of conveyor equipment at a large-scale installation site in Lebanon, TN.
This role is focused on system validation, troubleshooting, and performance reporting—not hands-on mechanical installation. This is a travel-based position with a structured schedule: fly in Monday, fly out Friday. Candidates open to continued travel may have the opportunity to roll onto future projects upon completion.
Duration:
5-Month Contract (Potential Extension/Continuation) Key Responsibilities Perform testing and commissioning of installed material handling (MHE) conveyor systems Execute end-to-end system checkouts to ensure proper functionality and performance Troubleshoot mechanical and system-level issues during commissioning phases Collect, analyze, and document system performance data for internal reporting Collaborate with cross-functional teams including controls, installation, and project management Ensure all systems meet operational and safety standards prior to handoff Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering field 2+ years of experience with mechanical conveyor systems, specifically within material handling environments Hands-on experience with testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting installed conveyor equipment Strong understanding of system-level diagnostics and performance validation Ability to interpret mechanical drawings and system layouts Work Environment & Travel Fly-in Monday, fly-out Friday schedule On-site presence required in Lebanon, TN during the workweek Opportunity to continue on future projects for candidates open to travel Additional Notes This role does not involve wrench-turning or physical installation work Focus is on engineering support, system validation, and reporting
