The
DB2/AS400
Administrator is responsible for the installation, configuration, administration, performance tuning, and ongoing support of IBM i (AS400) systems and DB2 databases. The role ensures high availability, data integrity, security, and optimal system performance in a production environment. Perform database installation, upgrades, patches, and fixes Monitor and tune database performance, queries, and system resources Manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery (DR) procedures Implement and maintain security controls, user access, and authorities Handle capacity planning and environment stability reviews Troubleshoot database and system issues, perform root cause analysis Support migration, upgrade, and modernization initiatives Coordinate with application, infrastructure, and operations teams Ensure compliance with IT audit, and regulatory requirements Maintain technical documentation and standard operating procedures Manage capacity planning, performance tuning, forecasting, and trending. Strong experience with IBM i (AS400) administration Hands-on with DB2 for i database management Expertise in backup/recovery, journaling, and high availability concepts Knowledge of performance tuning and workload management Familiarity with security, auditing, and compliance controls Experience supporting 24x7 production environments Exposure to cloud or hybrid migration projects is a plus
