Duration:
7 Months (Possible Extension) Job Overview Client is seeking an experienced Network Engineer IV with strong expertise in optical and IP networking technologies. The engineer will support the deployment and management of large-scale DWDM (Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing) networks and help maintain high-performance backbone infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of IP routing protocols, optical networking technologies, and Cisco routing platforms, along with strong troubleshooting and network analysis skills. Key Responsibilities Support the deployment and rollout of large-scale DWDM optical networks Design, plan, and model optical networks using planning tools Configure and manage IP networking infrastructure Work with core internet routing protocols such as BGP and OSPF Troubleshoot complex network performance and connectivity issues Work with Cisco enterprise routing platforms and associated hardware Monitor network traffic and optimize network performance Collaborate with engineering and technical teams to resolve network issues Required Skills & Experience 7+ years of networking industry experience Strong experience with DWDM and optical networking technologies Solid understanding of IP networking fundamentals Hands-on experience with routing protocols such as BGP and OSPF Experience with Cisco router platforms including: Cisco 37xx Cisco 49xx Cisco 65xx Cisco 73xx Cisco 76xx Strong troubleshooting and network analysis skills Additional Technical Knowledge (Preferred) Experience with the following networking technologies and protocols:
DWDM T1 / OTN
IPv4 & IPv6 TCP (internals & flow control)
HSRP / GLBP
PIMv2 IGMP
LDP TACACS IPSEC
& VPNs NetFlow DNS HTTP
