Job Description

Automation Engineer In 1902, Loos Machine began as a small maintenance and repair shop for local farmers. Over the years Loos has transitioned into a thriving business that paves the path for the food processing industry. Loos machine & Automation provides automation, engineering, machining, fabrication, process, and installation. The state-of-the-art manufacturing facility utilizes modern techniques and machines. With the companies continued success we are adding to our team. The purpose of the
AUTOMATION ENGINEER
is to create equipment and integrated system PLC code. This code must work over different networks to communicate with motor VFDs, Operator HMIs, and field devices and instruments. Primary software used is Rockwell Automation based.
Responsibilities:
Work with Engineering department on proper design and functionality of equipment Design and programming of PLC and HMI interface Work independently and with vendors to spec components to meet design intent Collaborate with all departments to maintain project schedule Travel to customer locations to install, stet up, and maintain new and existing equipment Control panel sizing and design Meet and communicate with customers to ensure proper design while maintaining project budget requirements
Requirements:
Rockwell Automation programming experience, including primarily design in LogixDesigner, RSLogix 5000, FactoryTalk View ME and SE platforms Rockwell Automation networking experience with Ethernet/IP Capable of starting and completing an entire project from beginning to end Electrical design experience including understanding electrical diagrams and troubleshooting Experience with Processing and CIP systems preferred Experience with Robotic applications is a plus Additional programming experience with other PLC manufacturers is a plus Additional programming experience with HMI software platforms is a plus; Wonderware, Ignition, etc. Capable of working effectively in a group and independently Proper communication with customers, vendors, contractors, and coworkers 10%-25% Travel required Candidate must be dependable, able to work independently, and follow company standards and procedures Benefits Include Competitive compensation Vacation/Holiday pay Employer paid Short-term disability Health, dental, disability, supplemental life, and accident insurance Employer 401k contribution up to 5%
