Job Overview We are searching for a Network Engineer on an effort supporting our Federal Government Client in Clarksburg, WV. The ideal candidate will provide technical engineering support for our large federal government agency's highly complex network infrastructure environment to include multiple enclaves comprising various classification levels. Network engineering support includes all engineering activities required to support the standard information technology lifecycle. The ideal candidate will provide design and engineering activities in support of new network solutions for a multi-enclave enterprise network environment which encompasses various technology. In addition, the candidate will provide network support on an as needed basis to resolve networking issues that have not been resolved by the first three support tiers. Core Responsibilities Gather user network requirements utilizing multiple methodologies to provide necessary technical documentation, system requirements documents, systems security requirements documents, and system test plan. Install, maintain and evaluate network systems and communications systems. Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues involving various protocols, topologies, networking hardware, etc. Conduct network architecture design, feasibility and cost studies. Utilize extensive knowledge of internetworking, computer systems, routers, switches, firewalls, and peripherals to enhance understanding of current network designs and to collaborate with other team members to develop new network designs. Apply technical and business experience and understanding to improve processes and procedures for deploying and maintaining network infrastructure. Work independently and collectively to help improve network solutions and contribute to network service improvements. Requirements Active Top Secret Clearance, with the ability to obtain SCI There is a CI polygraph test that is administered by the customer once onsite as well Minimum of six (6) years of experience designing, developing, and implementing network solutions Demonstrated experience in troubleshooting complex Local Area Networking (LAN) issues and resolving Wide Area Networking (WAN) problems and supporting of cost-effective, high-performance IP and LAN/WAN solutions. Experience with Cisco routing platforms, such as Aggregation Services Routers (ASRs) Hands on knowledge of routing protocols and technologies including
BGP, EIGRP, DMVPN, GRE
Hand on knowledge of Layer 2 technologies including
STP, MST, VLANS
Experience providing Tier 3 support and issue resolution Experience with network design and traffic engineering Experience providing senior-level engineering support Large enterprise environment experience Excellent communication skills Preferred Additional Skills and Qualifications Bachelor's degree in relevant field Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or higher Experience in network engineering within the federal intelligence community Ability to adhere to a disciplined troubleshooting methodology, and ensure task/mission completion, along with creating and maintaining necessary information Highly self-motivated and directed, with attention to detail Benefits Xpect Solutions, LLC is a one-of-a-kind employer with a talented team that is cleared at various levels and is certified in dozens of industry-recognized certifications.
