Job Summary The Network Administrator supports the IT department in maintaining and operating the company's computing and network environment. This role assists with the administration of network systems, user support, cybersecurity practices, and day-to-day IT operations to ensure reliable and secure connectivity across the organization. The Network Administrator works closely with internal staff and IT personnel to troubleshoot issues, support infrastructure improvements, and maintain system documentation. This position is primarily based in the Palmer, Alaska office, with occasional travel to company facilities or customer locations as needed. Key Responsibilities Maintain and support computer networks, operating systems, hardware, and network device configurations Administer and maintain Active Directory and Entra ID environments Provide user support, troubleshooting, and basic technology training Assist with secure remote network access for users Support day-to-day systems management, software updates, backups, and data recovery operations Assist in troubleshooting infrastructure and connectivity issues Maintain and update IT documentation, SOPs, and network diagrams Support cybersecurity, disaster recovery, and business continuity efforts Act as the first tier of support for user infrastructure-related issues Collaborate with other IT personnel to maintain stable and secure IT operationsQualifications Required:
High School Diploma or equivalent Strong understanding of IT systems and networking fundamentals Working knowledge of networking equipment such as switches, routers, firewalls, servers, and access points Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications Strong troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills Ability to work independently and in a team environmentPreferred:
Industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, CCNA, or equivalent Experience with virtualization platforms such as vSphere, KVM, or Kubernetes Familiarity with next-generation firewalls Experience with Intune, Entra ID, or similar cloud management platforms Understanding of networking technologies including DNS and DHCP 1+ year of experience in network administration or related IT support role Requirements Must currently reside in Alaska due to business and employment requirements Must be legally authorized to work in the United States Valid driver's license required Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform light physical tasks as needed Benefits Excellent Medical, Dental, Vision, Legal, and Prescription Drug Plan.
