Systems Administrator Location:
Anaheim, CA - 3 Days onsite after 90 days of employment. Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Systems Administrator to join our IT team supporting critical infrastructure across our financial services environment. The role is responsible for day-to-day administration, hardening, and availability of servers, storage, virtualization, and related platform services while ensuring compliance with financial industry security regulations. The successful candidate will work closely with security, compliance, and application teams to implement controls, support audits, and respond to incidents to maintain a secure, resilient, and compliant production environment. Key Responsibilities Administer and maintain server infrastructure (Windows and Linux), virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V), storage, and backups to ensure high availability and performance. Implement and manage system hardening, patch management, configuration baselines, and change control processes in accordance with security policies. Collaborate with Security and Compliance teams to define, implement and maintain technical controls required by financial industry regulations (e.g., GLBA, SOX, FFIEC, PCI-DSS, ISO 27001) and internal policies. Support internal and external compliance audits and assessments by preparing evidence, remediating findings, and participating in remediation planning. Manage identity and access controls, including privileged access, Active Directory administration, multi-factor authentication, and role-based access provisioning. Monitor systems and infrastructure using enterprise monitoring and logging tools, investigate alerts, and drive incident response and remediation activities. Maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions; run and validate restore procedures and participate in DR testing. Coordinate with application and business teams to onboard, configure, and tune infrastructure for new and existing applications, including performance troubleshooting and capacity planning. Document system configurations, runbooks, procedures, and change records; provide clear operational handover and knowledge transfer. Engage with vendors for hardware, software, and managed services; manage support contracts and evaluate updates/patches for compatibility and security impact. Qualifications Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience; or relevant industry certifications. 3+ years of hands-on systems administration experience in enterprise IT environments, preferably within the financial services industry. Proven experience implementing and supporting controls for financial industry security regulations and compliance programs (e.g., GLBA, SOX, FFIEC, PCI-DSS, ISO 27001). Strong skills administering Windows Server and Linux systems, virtualization platforms (VMware/Hyper-V), networking fundamentals, storage and backup technologies. Experience with patch management, configuration management, monitoring/logging tools, identity and access management, and incident response. Familiarity with change management, CMDBs, and delivering documentation for audits and operational readiness. Relevant certifications preferred (e.g., Microsoft MCSA/MCSE, RHCE, VCP, CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Security+). Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills with experience working across technical and compliance stakeholders. Nice to have: prior experience in the insurance industry, working knowledge of the Sapiens insurance platform, and proficiency in Korean (spoken and/or written).
