Duties Help Incumbent will exercise executive oversight and operional authority to ensure safety of NAS maintenance and operions ARTCCs, Combined TRACONs, OEP airports, and large geographical areas consisting of approximely two or more stes. Directs a highly technical and diverse workforce consisting of 150-300 federal employees who are Airway Transportion Specialists, Engineering Technicians, Program Managers/Analysts and Computer Specialists. Incumbent will have day-to-day direction over 3-5 subordine managers including subordine facility managers as well as functionally integred teams of operional and support personnel. Interfaces with management across multiple subordine organizional units and integres projects/programs across multiple functions. Provides coaching, mentoring, and development of staff and organizional capabilities and is responsible for team-building throughout the facilities in the District. Sets priorities, assigns tasks and responsibilities, monitors and evalues performance of organizional units, managers, and employees, approves leave; takes and/or approves corrective /disciplinary actions as approprie. Provide direct support to the Director of Technical Operions to establish, monitor, and sustain Technical Operions initiives and activities th cross service units within the Air Traffic Organizion and the FAA lines of business. Develop new methodologies and techniques to solve organizional challenges and procedures. Conceive. plan, and conduct studies involving complex operional issues and th support the overall Technical Operions Business Plan's activities under the core business measure of ensuring safety and security of the NAS. Provide senior level policy guidance, direction and interpretion of technical operions reled areas of NAS programs . Provide engineering and technical guidance regarding relionships between current and future NAS to be acquired, developed, and integred via numerous acquisition programs in support of the activities within the AJW Business Plan's core business measure- Acquisition Workforce Plan.
