We are a small group that designs and implements computer networks across many businesses and industries. MicroLink is a Microsoft Cloud Solution Partner, Barracuda Managed Service Provider and Authorized Lenovo Partner. We provide hardware, software, operating systems as well as on-site support and managed services for our clients. Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and highly motivated IT Network Services Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate thrives in a small team environment with a wide range of skills to deliver installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting of our customers' network infrastructure and related IT systems. This role requires a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a customer-focused and confident attitude to ensure the reliable and secure operation of all network services. This role is primarily an in the office position located in Glastonbury, CT with travel to client sites as needed. This role is working with long-term clients with strong established relationships. This role offers a level of autonomy once integrated with our team.
Responsibilities Network Installation and Configuration:
Install, configure, and maintain network hardware and software, including servers, workstations, peripherals, routers, switches, access points, mobile devices, security cameras and firewalls.
Troubleshooting and Support:
Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues for network devices and end-users, providing timely and effective solutions.
Performance Monitoring:
Proactively monitor and analyze network performance to identify bottlenecks and address potential outages before they occur.
Network Security:
Implement and maintain network security protocols and practices, such as configuring firewalls to protect against unauthorized access and cyber threats.
User Support:
Provide technical assistance and guidance to customer employees regarding network-related problems and best practices. •
Documentation:
Create and maintain accurate documentation of network layouts, configurations, changes, and troubleshooting procedures.
Collaboration:
Work with vertical market software support teams and external vendors to address complex technical issues and implement infrastructure improvements.
Upgrades and Maintenance:
Schedule and perform routine network maintenance and upgrades, including firmware updates and patch management.

N/A Required Skills and Qualifications Experience:
3-5 years of proven experience as a Network Technician, IT Specialist, or in a similar network support role.
Technical Knowledge:
In-depth knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.). Proficiency in configuring and maintaining network hardware (routers, switches). Familiarity with LAN/WAN concepts, VLANs, and network security practices. Experience with network monitoring and diagnostic tools (e.g., ping, traceroute, Wireshark).
Problem-Solving:
Strong diagnostic and analytical skills to troubleshoot complex technical problems efficiently.
Communication:
Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively assist technical and non-technical users.
Soft Skills:
Strong organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset. Preferred Qualifications (not required) Relevant certifications, such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA). Experience with cloud networking platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS). Experience with virtualization technologies. Salary Salary commensurate with Education, Certifications & Industry Experience Salary Range $75,000 - $95,000 Benefits Health insurance and paid time off.
