Job Description

The primary purpose of this position is to manage, maintain, and optimize the IT infrastructure of the credit union.
Essential Functions:
Network Management Deploy and configure routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points to ensure secure and efficient connectivity across all branches and work locations. Perform routine maintenance, firmware updates, patching, and hardware replacements to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and compliance with security standards. Manage remediation efforts related to audit findings. Ensure systems meet the latest security standards to minimize risk. Network Monitoring Ensure high availability, security, and performance of systems and networks, supports business continuity, and leads technological initiatives aligned with organizational goals. Use network monitoring tools to proactively identify and resolve latency, connectivity, or security issues, minimizing downtime and ensuring uninterrupted member services. Support Escalation Diagnose and troubleshoot advanced hardware, software and network problems that require deeper technical expertise, ensuring timely resolution and minimal disruption to operations. Liaise with third-party vendors and cross-functional teams to resolve escalated issues involving systems, integrations, and specialized infrastructure components. Create and maintain detailed documentation of resolved Tier 2 issues to support knowledge transfer, reduce repeat incidents, and enhance Tier 1 support capabilities. Research and Recommendations Collaborate cross-functionally to deliver reliable solutions and enhance member and employee experiences through robust IT operations. Analyze current infrastructure vulnerabilities and industry trends to propose enhancements that strengthen business continuity and cybersecurity posture. Conduct in-depth research on new hardware, software, and cloud-based solutions to assess their potential to improve system performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency within our IT environment. Qualifications:
Experience, Education & Credentials:
A high school diploma, or equivalent, is required. A Bachelor's degree is preferred.
Required certifications include:
VMWare certified professional, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+ Preferred certifications include: Cisco CCNA, Cisco CCST A minimum of five years of professional experience in systems and network administration is required, with demonstrated expertise in managing complex IT infrastructures and supporting enterprise-level environments. Prior experience working in a retail financial institution is required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Proficiency in managing servers, virtualization platforms, and enterprise network components. Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve complex technical issues across systems, networks, and applications. Understanding of cybersecurity best practices and regulatory requirements relevant to financial institutions (i.e. NCUA, DoB). Familiarity with Palo Alto firewalls is preferred. Experience with an IAM solution is desired. Ability to lead infrastructure projects, document configurations, and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Skilled in assessing new tools and platforms to improve infrastructure efficiency, resilience, and scalability. Strong interpersonal skills to support internal users, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to a positive service culture.
