Position Summary Chartis Federal is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to provide systems administration support for a mission-critical
CBP TACCOM
environment. This role supports the secure, continuous operation, performance, and maintenance of systems infrastructure in a 24x7x365 operational environment, in accordance with DHS and CBP standards. Responsibilities
  • Install, configure, maintain, and rebuild servers and infrastructure systems
  • Configure hardware, software, storage, services, directories, and related systems
  • Perform daily monitoring of systems, applications, logs, and operational health
  • Execute and validate backup and recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and system availability
  • Perform file archival, storage management, and system maintenance
  • Apply operating system patches, upgrades, and configuration changes in accordance with approved change management and security procedures
  • Support system hardening and cybersecurity compliance
  • Create, modify, and manage user accounts
  • Provide Tier III troubleshooting and issue resolution
  • Perform root cause analysis for infrastructure incidents
  • Support hardware/software recovery activities
  • Conduct performance tuning and capacity planning
  • Optimize CPU, memory, and storage resources
  • Maintain environmental monitoring equipment
  • Develop and maintain system administration procedures
  • Identify opportunities for automation and process improvement
  • Support a 24x7x365 mission environment, including on-call response as required
  • Support ad hoc technical initiatives Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in IT, computer science, engineering, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of systems administration experience
  • Strong Windows and/or Linux systems administration experience
  • Experience with backup/recovery solutions
  • Experience with patch management and enterprise monitoring
  • Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills Preferred Qualifications
  • Microsoft, VMware, or similar certifications
  • Experience in DHS or federal environments
  • Familiarity with TACCOM or secure operational systems
  • Existing DHS suitability or federal clearance Work Environment / Physical Requirements

  • Occasional after-hours support in mission-critical environment
  • Must pass CBP background investigation
