Information Technology (IT) Administrator Overview We are a company of 200+ employees supported by a small, collaborative IT team. We are seeking an adaptable IT Administrator (Level I or Level II) to join our group and help support, maintain, and modernize our IT environment. This is a hands-on, cross-functional role covering systems administration, networking, infrastructure, and end-user support. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in either systems or networking, along with a genuine willingness to learn and grow across multiple technologies.
You will be working alongside:
An IT Manager who is actively involved in systems, infrastructure, and project work. A Remote System Administrator who handles cloud and non-physical infrastructure. An additional team member who assists with Tier 1 support and administrative duties.

Role Purpose & Contribution The IT Administrator operates both reactively and proactively:
Reactive:
Provide timely, effective technical support for the company's computing infrastructure and end users.
Proactive:
Continuously identify opportunities to improve systems, hardware, documentation, security, and performance. (

Final title, project autonomy, and day-to-day scope will be aligned with the candidate's experience level.) Key Responsibilities Network & Infrastructure Support Assist with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of network and server infrastructure. Configure and support Aruba and Arista switches (including CLI-based work), Ubiquiti gateways , and Fortinet FortiGate firewalls (rules, policies, VPNs). Support ISP connectivity, VLANs, IP addressing, WiFi configurations, and NVR security camera systems.
Participate in physical infrastructure upkeep:
server installations, UPS battery replacements, server room organization, cable tracing, cable management, and legacy cable abatement. Assist with modernization efforts, including decommissioning and securely disposing of retired Cisco gear and storage drives.
Systems Administration & Security Active Directory & Identity:
Manage user accounts, access, permissions, object lifecycles, and Group Policy (GPO). Microsoft 365: Support and maintain our M365 and Exchange hybrid/cloud environment.
Virtualization & Backups:
Assist in maintaining our VMware vSphere and Veeam backup systems.
Endpoint & Security Operations:
Manage system health through OS/application patching cycles. Monitor and support endpoint protection ( CrowdStrike ), SEIM logging, identity protection, email filtering ( Barracuda ), and remote access tools. Helpdesk, ERP & Specialized Application Support Respond to and resolve Tier 1 and 2 issues involving Windows PCs, thin clients, mobile devices, and core business applications. Build, configure, and deploy new workstations, managing the full device refresh cycle. Provide specialized application support for industry software: AutoCAD, Trimble products, BIM360, and CAMduct . Support our core cloud-based business systems ( Viewpoint Vista / FieldConnect ), assisting with basic configurations, user issue tracking, and vendor ticketing. Asset Lifecycle & Inventory Management Maintain and organize IT stock areas and track hardware assets, warranties, and configurations. Maintain accurate documentation of hardware specifications, asset tags, and user assignments. Assist with sourcing replacement components and hardware upgrades. Qualifications Required Education/Experience:
Associate's degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field OR equivalent hands-on experience.
IT Administrator I:
Typically 1-3 years of relevant IT experience.
IT Administrator II:
Typically 3-5+ years of relevant IT experience.
Technical Foundation:
A baseline understanding of Active Directory, core networking fundamentals (IP addressing, DNS, DHCP), and comfort learning and utilizing command-line interfaces (CLI).
Mindset:
Strong troubleshooting skills, an appetite for learning new technologies, team-focused, and a patient, professional, user-first support attitude.

Physical:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. for server installations and physical infrastructure tasks. Walking, bending, lifting, ability to see, hear, speak. etc. ⭐ Preferred (Nice to Have) Experience with VMware vSphere , Veeam backups , or M365/Exchange management. Experience with Fortinet , Aruba , Arista , or Ubiquiti hardware. Exposure to Viewpoint Vista or similar ERP environments (including basic application customization or vendor support). Familiarity running basic SQL queries or using reporting tools (like Crystal Reports) for application configurations. Background working within a small, cross-functional IT team or assisting with legacy infrastructure cleanups.
Pay:
$70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
