INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY ASSISTANT
Soybean Processing and Biodiesel- Gilman, IL
FULL-TIME OR PART-TIME
Animal Feed. Animal feed made from soybeans is the most important protein source used to feed farm animals. As a soybean processor, large quantities of soybean meal and soybean hull pellets are produced as a by-product of oil extraction. Vegetable Oil. Incobrasa operates a state-of-the-art packaging and labeling facility that features various production lines of bottled and canned vegetable oil. Biodiesel. Incobrasa is a member of the National Biodiesel Board. We are BQ-9000 and RFS certified, with an annual production capacity of 44 million gallons. Biodiesel is a renewable biofuel that is clean-burning and offers a replacement or supplement to regular diesel fuel. Barge- Pekin, IL Incobrasa recently acquired a barge operation in Pekin. Grain barge operation is a vital component of the agricultural supply chain, facilitating the efficient transportation of bulk grain. Our Grain Elevator.

Role:
The IT Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the daily operations of the organization's information technology infrastructure. This position is responsible for assisting with the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of hardware and software systems to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime. The IT Assistant collaborates closely with the IT team to provide timely technical support to end-users, addressing issues related to computers, networks, and peripheral devices. By maintaining accurate documentation and monitoring system performance, the IT Assistant helps to uphold security protocols and improve overall IT service delivery. Ultimately, this role contributes to the seamless functioning of technology resources that empower employees to perform their duties efficiently.Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree in Information Technology or related field is preferred. Basic understanding of computer hardware, operating systems (Windows, macOS), and common software applications. Experience with troubleshooting and resolving technical issues in a professional or educational environment. Strong communication skills to effectively assist users with varying levels of technical knowledge. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.Preferred Qualifications:
Certification such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP). Familiarity with network protocols, security best practices, and IT service management frameworks. Experience with Active Directory, remote desktop support tools, and ticketing systems. Prior experience supporting a diverse user base in a corporate or institutional setting. Basic scripting or automation skills to streamline routine IT tasks.Responsibilities:
Provide first-level technical support to end-users by diagnosing and resolving telephones, hardware, software, and network issues. Assist in the setup, configuration, and deployment of new computer systems, peripherals, and software applications. Assist with new system implementation and upgrades. Maintain and update IT inventory records, including hardware, software licenses, and user accounts. Support routine maintenance tasks such as system updates, backups, and virus scans to ensure system integrity and security. Collaborate with senior IT staff to escalate complex issues and participate in IT projects and upgrades as needed. Document technical procedures, user guides, and troubleshooting steps to facilitate knowledge sharing within the team. Maintain accurate documentation of software licensing, installations, and troubleshooting activities. Monitor network performance and report anomalies or potential security threats to the IT management team. Train new staff on technology systems, software applications, and network access.Skills:
The IT Assistant utilizes technical troubleshooting skills daily to identify and resolve user issues efficiently, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations. Communication skills are essential for translating complex technical information into understandable guidance for end-users. Organizational skills are applied in maintaining accurate records of IT assets and documenting procedures, which supports team collaboration and knowledge retention. Familiarity with hardware and software systems enables the IT Assistant to assist in installations and upgrades confidently.
