Indiana University Health is seeking individuals who embody these values to join our Fort Wayne leadership team in the role of Physician Support Services Manager. The Manager Physician Support Services coordinates Physician and Medical Staff recruitment activities for IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital. Strengthens communications and networking relationships through contact with physicians and their medical staff. Participates with hospital and Medical Staff leadership in the planning, development, decision-making, and administration of medical and professional staff activities in accordance with federal and state laws, JCAHO, the Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations, Policies, and other relevant hospital policies. Utilizes knowledge of policies, system processes, and outside regulatory agency requirements to provide expertise and consultation for medical staff, administration, hospital leadership, and other staff. Manages the Credentialing Department and coordinates all medical staff credentialing and various activities for the Medical Staff at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital and Blackford Community Hospital.

Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Credentialing, Quality Candidate Qualifications Candidates for the position will be evaluated according to the following criteria and competencies. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Nursing, or equivalent experience required. RN preferred. 5+ years of experience in a hospital setting required. Training and experience in implementing and coordinating medical staff activities required. Solid knowledge of JCAHO regulations required. Solid knowledge of credentialing processes required. 2-3 years of management experience required. Highly competent in use of PC based software required. CMSC and CPCS training and/or certification preferred. Experience working with medical staff leadership and prior experience with JCAHO Accreditation surveys preferred. Requires to work well with all levels of personnel. Requires to possess a positive attitude and maintains a harmonious relationship with associates. Must have the ability to sit and perform repetitive motions with arm muscles for typing. Must have the ability to stoop, kneel, reach and bend for filing. Must have the ability and flexibility to juggle several projects simultaneously, to prioritize and to work under pressure of deadlines with frequent interruptions. Must have the ability to establish and maintain an excellent working relationship with peers, subordinates, and corporate managers. Must have the ability to exhibit excellent personal skills to serve as liaison between professional staff, excellent language skills and ability to understand complex medical vocabulary and ability to communicate messages accurately. Most contacts will be with physicians and members of the executive team. Must have the ability to function independently and complete complex tasks without immediate supervision. Must have the ability to be adaptable and readily accept change. Must have the ability to handle confidential matters without violating the confidence involved. Must have the ability to handle public contacts in a manner that reflects credibility on the System and the office of the Executive Vice President. Must have the ability to communicate in one-on-one over the telephone and within a group setting. Must have the ability to manipulate various keyboards. Must have the ability to be proficient in researching various matters. Must have the ability to exhibit strong interpersonal, problem-solving and organizational skills.
