We are seeking a motivated IT Intern to join our hospital's Information Technology team this summer. JOB DESCRIPTION

The IT Intern will support the Information Technology team in delivering reliable, secure, and efficient technology services across the hospital. This role provides hands-on exposure to healthcare IT systems, infrastructure, analytics, and end-user support in a fast-paced clinical and business environment. The intern will gain practical experience working with enterprise systems, supporting staff, and contributing to ongoing IT initiatives.

Key Responsibilities Can Include:

Provide frontline technical support for hospital staff (hardware, software, and access issues) Assist with device setup, imaging, and deployment (laptops, tablets, mobile devices) Support user account management (password resets, access provisioning, basic permissions) Participate in IT projects and system upgrades (e.g., EMR support, application rollouts) Help maintain IT documentation and knowledge base articles Assist in tracking and resolving helpdesk tickets in the ITSM system Support network and infrastructure tasks under supervision Assist with data/reporting requests and basic analytics (if applicable) Observe and support cybersecurity best practices and compliance requirements

Learning Opportunities:

Exposure to healthcare systems such as EMR platforms (e.g., MEDITECH Expanse) Understanding of IT operations in a clinical environment Experience with enterprise tools (ticketing systems, identity management, reporting platforms) Participation in cross-functional projects with clinical and business teams Insight into healthcare compliance and data security

EDUCATION

Minimum:

Current enrollment in High school or GED/HSE accredited by the State Board of Education or college program with intention to pursue degree in IT field

Preferred:

Computer science, Information Technology, Informatics or Management Information systems major
