Hiring Agency Justice & Public Safety Cabinet | Kentucky State Police Location 1266 Louisville Road Frankfort, KY 40601 USA Description Kentucky State Police is the premier, full-service law enforcement agency in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. As a member of the Kentucky State Police Information Technology Branch Help Desk, you will be responsible for supporting systems/applications throughout the Commonwealth and the specialized law enforcement IT software. You will be a member of the Internal Support Section. Provides Support Assistance to Users of Computer Based Software Applications, and Provides Technical Assistance In Problem Determination. Under Direct Supervision Manage Problem Diagnosis and Repair Services on Hardware. Installs and maintains complex equipment and software that include operating systems, workstations, peripherals, communication devices, control systems, software packages, and networking software. Base Location:
Frankfort, KY - In Office - Provide remote support to KSP employees and local agencies that utilize KSP-provided systems and software. Key Responsibilities:
Provide support for the specialized law enforcement IT software used by KSP personnel. First Tier technician for all law enforcement software for the KSP employees. Serves as Help Desk and Resource Person for 123 Link Agencies and 60 Integrated Criminal Apprehension Program (Icap) Agencies, assisting the users with hardware, software and network related questions. Installs and tests systems and system upgrades, performs file compressions, develops and maintains system utilities related to any and all Law Enforcement systems. Performs other standard help desk and operational functions including: enters, executes & monitors production jobs; installs and uninstalls equipment. such as operating systems, workstations, peripherals, communications devices, control systems, proprietary software packages, networking software, electronic mail, and data base management software. Assists with and maintains the Law Information Network of Kentucky (LINK) law enforcement teleprocessing network. learns to manage and provide operating system support. Which includes installation and monitoring performance of servers on local area networks. Performs Standard Paperwork as Required; Assists Supervisor In Developing Documentation, Procedures and Forms. And also assist in writing technical documentation and user manuals. Receives complex problem reports, and resolves or refers to appropriate personnel when necessary. Assists with and maintains the Integrated Criminal Apprehension Program (ICAP) Network._ Learns to manage system service providers with routine maintenance issues; participates in systems recovery and provides emergency assistance to KSP and other Law Enforcement agencies statewide. Skills and Expectations include but are not limited to the following: Customer service Operate a state vehicle when necessary. Experience with law enforcement technology. Technical Troubleshooting.
