Position Summary The IT Technical Infrastructure Lead is a mid-level technical role responsible for the primary technology backbone across all company entities. This individual owns the administration, maintenance, and security of the server, network, and endpoint environments supporting approximately 200 users across multiple Louisiana facilities. In addition to core infrastructure, this role provides critical technical assistance to the Systems Integration team. While infrastructure is the primary focus, the Lead will assist in developing and maintaining full-stack web, client, and server applications as a secondary, supportive function to solve real-world operational challenges.
Key Responsibilities Infrastructure & Server Ownership Server Administration:
Own the Windows Server environment, including patching, monitoring, performance tuning, and the regular review of server logs and uptime.
Virtualization:
Manage Hyper-V hosts and virtual machines supporting critical production workloads.
Data Integrity:
Maintain and validate backup and disaster recovery processes to ensure 100% recoverability.
Network & Security:
Administer firewalls, VPN tunnels, and site-to-site connectivity. Perform regular security audits, monitor security alerts, and maintain technical controls for compliance frameworks.
Documentation:
Author and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), technical configurations, and runbooks.
Operations:
Manage software licenses, domain providers, and technical purchasing.
Systems Integration Assistance Development Support:
Assist the integration team with programming tasks in PHP, MySQL, HTML, JavaScript, and C# as needed to support industrial workflows and full-stack applications.
Database Assistance:
Support data collection efforts and the maintenance of SQL databases for production monitoring and internal applications.
Infrastructure Provisioning:
Partner with the Systems Integration team to provision servers and connectivity for internal applications.
Automation:
Use PowerShell and other languages to automate routine administration and deployment tasks.
Qualifications Experience:
3-4 years of progressive experience in systems administration, IT operations, or a similar technical multi-role position.
Systems Expertise:
Windows Server, Hyper-V, and networking fundamentals including firewalls, VLANs, and routing.
Programming Skills:
Functional understanding of PHP, SQL, and C# to assist in building and troubleshooting web, client, and server applications, plus PowerShell scripting.
Ownership Mindset:
Strong ability to work independently, prioritize demands, and own projects from conception to completion.
Education:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering Technology preferred.
Physical & Availability Requirements Physical Ability:
Ability to move between office and manufacturing environments and lift up to 45 lbs during shop work or equipment installation.
Environmental:
Willingness to work in various weather conditions as part of system integration and hardware deployment efforts.
Flexible Schedule:
Availability for scheduled, emergency, and after-hours work to support maintenance windows, outages, and critical incidents.
On-Site Presence:
