Job Description

Overview We are a small but quickly growing manufacturing company seeking a Junior Systems Administrator to join our IT department. This role will work directly with the IT Manager to support the company's infrastructure, security, and technology operations and serve as the front line of support for end user's daily needs. Because we are a smaller organization, this position offers broad exposure to many areas of IT including systems administration, networking, security, user support, software, and automation projects. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who enjoys solving problems, learning new systems, and taking ownership of technical challenges. Our environment places a strong emphasis on security and regulatory compliance, including adherence to NIST 800-171 and CMMC security requirements. This role provides a unique opportunity for a Junior Administrator to gain hands-on experience working in a compliance-focused environment while participating in projects that improve operational efficiency across the business. Key Responsibilities Assist with administration in an Entra hybrid environment including GPOs, CAs, and MDM policies Manage user accounts, permissions, and group memberships Support onboarding and offboarding of employees Provide support for desktops, laptops, kiosks and mobile devices Assist with workstation deployment, imaging, and configuration Maintain GPOs, CAs, and Intune policies Support switches, wireless access points, and related infrastructure Help install or run network cabling when necessary Assist with system monitoring, patching, and maintenance Support backups, system updates, and monitoring Assist in maintaining security controls aligned with
NIST 800-171 / CMMC
Participate in security-related projects such as access management, logging, and endpoint protection Troubleshoot hardware, software, network, and connectivity issues Participate in internal technology projects including: process automation; internal software initiatives; paperless workflow development; and integration with ERP and manufacturing systems Assist with documentation and improvement of IT processes Required Qualifications 2+ years of IT support or systems administration experience Working knowledge of Windows operating systems Basic understanding of networking concepts Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical users Preferred Experience Microsoft 365 / Exchange Online Active Directory administration Windows Server environments Device management platforms Virtualization platforms Security or compliance-focused environments Manufacturing or ERP systems The ideal candidate is someone who has the drive to grow their career in systems administration and security, enjoys learning new technologies and problem solving, and takes initiative and ownership of issues until completion. The candidate must be comfortable working both independently and collaboratively.
Pay:
$50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
