Job Description
Description •This role is on-site at our Norwell, MA Office• Position Summary The Systems and Network Administrator is responsible for the reliable operation, security, and performance of the organization's IT infrastructure. This role manages servers, networks, and related systems, ensuring availability, integrity, and scalability while supporting business operations and users across the organization. Key Responsibilities Systems Administration Install, configure, maintain, and support Windows and/or Linux servers (on-premises and cloud-based) Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and file/print services Monitor system performance, capacity, and uptime; proactively identify and resolve issues Manage system backups, disaster recovery processes, and business continuity plans Apply patches, updates, and security fixes across server and endpoint environments Network Administration Administer and support
LAN, VPN, SD-WAN
(Meraki) and wireless networks Configure and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, and network security appliances Monitor network performance, availability, and security (PRTG, Remote Manager, ConnectWise) Troubleshoot connectivity issues and coordinate with ISPs and vendors as needed Maintain network documentation, diagrams, and configurations Security & Compliance Implement and enforce security best practices, including user access controls and least-privilege principles Monitor systems for security threats and respond to incidents Support compliance efforts related to cybersecurity, data protection, and internal controls Participate in regular security assessments and audits User & Application Support Support enterprise applications, including collaboration, email, and productivity platforms Assist with escalated technical issues from the help desk Partner with business teams to support technology needs and improvements Project & Vendor Support Participate in infrastructure upgrades, system migrations, and technology projects Evaluate and recommend hardware, software, and service solutions Work with third-party vendors for implementation and ongoing support Requirements Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or equivalent experience 5-7+ years of hand-on experience multi-site or distributed systems and network administration Strong knowledge of: Windows Server environments and Active Directory Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, firewalls) Backup, disaster recovery, and system monitoring tools Experience supporting virtualized environments (VMware, Hyper-V at branch scale, Azure VM) Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills Preferred Qualifications Experience with cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure, AWS, or similar) Familiarity with Microsoft 365 administration Security certifications or experience (e.g., firewall management, MFA, endpoint security) Experience with Veeam, Azure backup Relevant certifications such as: Microsoft, Cisco (CCNA), CompTIA Network+, Security+, or similar Core Competencies Strong attention to detail and operational discipline Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks Clear communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders Proactive, problem-solving mindset High level of professionalism and discretion Working Conditions Regular on-call rotation.
