Job Description

The Alaka`ina Foundation Family of Companies (FOCs) has a potential need for a Sr. System Administrator to provide support for our government customer in Laurel, MD at Ft. Meade •
POSITION IS CONTINGENT UPON CONTRACT AWARD.
•DESCRIPTION
OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for high-level, day-to-day operational maintenance, support, and upgrades for complex operating systems, workstations and servers. Coordinates, directs and performs complex software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages. Schedules installations and upgrades and maintains them in accordance with established IT policies and procedures. Continually monitors and tunes multiple systems to achieve optimum performance levels. Ensures workstation/server data integrity by evaluating, implementing, and managing appropriate software and hardware solutions of varying complexities. Ensures data/media recoverability by developing and implementing a schedule of system backups and database archive operations. Plans and implements for the modernization of servers. Develops, implements and promotes standard operating procedures and schedules. Conducts hardware and software audits of workstations and servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines. Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
REQUIRED DEGREE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION
Bachelor's degree in computer science or another related field. May be required to meet additional

certification requirements
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Must have a minimum of eight (8) years of Systems Administration experience in a secure DoD environment. Experience with complex software installations and upgrades. Experience working with workstations and servers. Experience in providing system administrative recommendations for upgrades, resolutions and implementation as needed.
REQUIRED CITIZENSHIP AND CLEARANCE
United States Citizenship required. (Green Card not acceptable) Must have an active Top Secret/SCI clearance.
