Duties Help This position directs the stregic goals an assigned Flight Program Operions (AJF) locion by overseeing the administrive and technical direction of flight operions personnel and managing facility management. The Flight Operions Team Manager exercises final authority for managerial responsibilities over a highly technical and specialized staff including work assignments, selections, promotions, disciplinary actions, performance management, awards, and resolution of grievances. Applies a thorough understanding of the principles of management and stregic planning, and the ability to integre the work of multiple organizional units, projects, or programs to accomplish mission objectives. Regularly communices organizional updes, goals, and objectives with employees and provides feedback to leadership. Oversees staff responsible for performing flight inspection of navigional aids and instrument flight procedures in the Nional Airspace System (NAS). Ensures crewmembers opere in accordance with applicable 14 Code of Federal Regulions (CFR) parts, opering manuals, and nional policy/directives. Applies a detailed knowledge of technical and regulory requirements and an understanding of the objectives of the major subdivision, the LOB/SO, and the FAA to direct and coordine resources of a large-scale organizion. Demonstres commitment to the Flight Program Operions 14 CFR part 5 Safety Management System and reinforces a strong safety culture th encourages the open sharing of safety informion and mitigion of operional risk. Directs the work of subordine employees for multiple organizional units/projects/programs across multiple functions and/or disciplines within a major subdivision. Work includes complex projects/programs based on the objectives of the major subdivision/the Air Traffic Organizion (ATO) Line of Business (LOB) and frequently the FAA. Makes recommendions to continuously improve the safety and effectiveness of flight scheduling, flight operions, aircraft maintenance, ground safety, and facility maintenance. Integres and coordines the work of inter-functional groups and recommends resource allocion for the applicable program segment. Provides leadership in developing, implementing, evaluing and improving processes and procedures to ensure the effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity of the organizion. Reviews and approves reports and documention to assure they accurely reflect the policies and vision of AJF/ATO/FAA and the effect on safety of the NAS. Established guidelines, policies and procedures typically govern the work performed. Individual and organizional performance is typically reviewed periodically through organizional performance measures to ensure timeless, policy compliance, and alignment with other project/program objectives. Contacts are primarily within the organizional unit, major subdivision and the LOB/SO with subordines, peers, and higher-level managers to discuss the stus of projects/programs and to plan. Stays abreast of maintenance activities and ensure flight program goals are achieved through open communicion with the Line Maintenance Supervisor. In some areas, may have frequent contact with customers to explain policies, procedures, for other project/programs purposes. Serves as the AJF facility point of contact for interface with other FAA offices, local, ste, and federal agencies, prive organizions, and aviion customers. Work is typically governed by established policies, procedures, and mission objectives, which leave considerable room for discretion. This is a non-critical sensitive level position. Incumbent may require access to informion classified up to and including SECRET. Incumbent must participe in the FAA Program as crewmember approprie to the crewmember assignment.
