Job Description
Description Server & Storage Technician Curvature Server & Storage Technicians must be able to work in a fast-paced environment that requires accuracy, solid troubleshooting skills and the ability to clearly communicate status and issues. They are responsible for rigorously testing and configuring a variety of networking equipment. What you'll be doing: Tests networking, server and storage products to all order specifications Advanced testing and complex configuration of Cisco, Juniper and other networking equipment Complex assembly and diagnostics Properly rebinning equipment to appropriate locations within Operations Proper and efficient testing of all incoming gear. Using Tech Work Space and tech logging all testing output. Interfaces with Shipping, Receiving, Repair, Material Control, and Sales Takes phone or visitor messages and delivers to appropriate individual Accurately inputs information into inventory management program Learns and uses test equipment Maintains safe, clean and organized work space Composes and types routine correspondence and memoranda using word processing software Compiles and types statistical reports including tables and text using spreadsheet software Performs other related duties as required What we are looking for: Knowledge of modern business communication, specifically electronic communication Ability to use a personal computer and various software packages including skills in Microsoft Suite Ability to accurately follow instructions and retain technical information quickly Ability to interpret schematics, blueprints and diagrams. Ability to work in fast-paced, collaborative environment Proven organizational skills Demonstrates teaming behaviors including effective communication skills face-to-face, via email, and on the phone Ability to establish priorities, work independently and as part of a team, and proceed with objectives without supervision Basic Knowledge of testing methodology, topology, cabling plant Good written and verbal communication skills Two to four-year college degree preferred but not required.
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required. 1-year Knowledge of modern warehouse procedures and methods including telephone communications, office systems, and record keeping 1-year industry experience with IT networking hardware or equivalent combination of education and experience 1-year experience with CATOS-based fixed configuration switches (i.e. 2948G) Equal Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
