Type of Job:
Indefinite contract The position focuses on hardware support and on-site infrastructure, while software, network, and back-office IT services are delivered by the off-site help desk (OTS) under the direction of the Group CTO. The Site IT Coordinator works in close coordination with these groups and is expected to independently handle routine hardware issues and to triage and escalate more complex issues for prompt resolution. Hardware Support and Maintenance Perform new computer set-up, imaging, and deployment for desktops, laptops, and instrument PCs. Resolve routine hardware issues independently (reimaging, part replacement, peripheral swaps) while triaging and escalating more complex software issues, and vendor-supported repairs to OTS. Perform routine preventive maintenance on PCs, peripherals, and on-site infrastructure equipment. Maintain instrument-attached PCs in coordination with lab personnel, instrument vendors, and OTS. On-Site Infrastructure Provide hands-on support for on-site infrastructure hardware, including network switches, routers, and firewalls, Wi-Fi access points, printers and multifunction devices, conference-room AV and video conferencing equipment, on-site servers, VoIP/phone-system hardware, and security/access-control hardware. Coordinate with Group IT on infrastructure projects, upgrades, and rollouts, including planning, scheduling, and on-site execution. Act as on-site "remote hands" for OTS on physical tasks that cannot be performed remotely, such as reboots, cable checks, equipment swaps, and console access. Inventory and Asset Management Maintain accurate inventory of IT hardware (PCs, laptops, monitors, peripherals, network and infrastructure equipment), software licenses, and company-issued mobile devices. Manage device check-in and check-out tied to employee onboarding and offboarding in coordination with HR and OTS. Track equipment lifecycle, warranty status, and replacement planning. Coordination and Liaison Serve as the local point of contact for end-user escalations that the OTS help desk routes back to the site. Escort and supervise outside IT vendors and contractors when on-site. Document on-site changes, configuration updates, and incidents, and feed this information back to the Group team. Support communication between site management, end users, and the corporate IT organization.
Requirements:
Education and Experience High school diploma or GED required. 2-3 years of hands-on IT/hardware support experience in a business, laboratory, or similar environment. Relevant industry certifications preferred (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+).
Technical Skills Operating systems:
Windows 10 and 11; Linux.
Hardware:
experience supporting common business hardware from vendors such as Dell, HP, Lenovo, and Apple.
Networking:
experience with Palo Alto, Cisco, Ubiquiti, and similar networking equipment.
Productivity suite:
working knowledge of Microsoft 365. Laboratory and instrument-attached PC experience preferred. Familiarity with mobile device management, basic security practices, and IT asset/inventory tracking.
