Corporate & Community Development 4601 Mid Rivers Mall Drive, Cottleville, MO 63376, USA 18.78 per hour Hourly Full-Time Staff Founded in 1986, St. Charles Community College (SCC) has a reputation as one of the best two-year colleges in the state of Missouri. SCC's service area includes a six-county region with a population exceeding 540,000. SCC's main campus, located in Cottleville, has won architectural awards for its innovative, contemporary design. The college's Dardenne Creek Campus features the Center for Healthy Living and the Field to Table Institute. Opening Fall 2025, the Innovation West Campus located in Wentzville features the Regional Workforce Innovation Center. With a focus on innovation, St. Charles Community College is a leader in delivering high quality education in a state-of-the-art learning environment. St. Charles Community College is seeking a driven, creative, and entrepreneurial Conference Services Specialist to lead the promotion, coordination, and execution of campus events and extensive facility rentals. This role is ideal for a self-motivated professional who thrives on innovation, relationship-building, and expanding opportunities through community engagement. The specialist will manage events from concept through completion while actively growing the college's reputation as a premier destination for conferences and special events.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Actively promote the college's rental venues to businesses, organizations, and community partners. Develop creative event concepts that enhance community engagement and campus visibility. In collaboration with the VP, develop long-term strategies for expanding conference and event services. Serve as a visible ambassador for conference and event services throughout the region while building and maintaining strong relationships with local business and industry leaders. Consult with clients to design customized event experiences aligned with their goals and budget. Research and analyze local event venues and services to maintain market awareness and strategic positioning. Identify and develop opportunities for large-scale special events attracting hundreds of attendees. Coordinate all aspects of conferences, meetings, and special events from initial conversation through post-event evaluation. Oversee logistics including scheduling, room setup, vendor coordination, technology needs, and on-site execution. Ensure events reflect the college's standards for professionalism, hospitality, and operational excellence. Actively oversee all event-related budgets, pricing, contracts, billing and financial reconciliation. Monitor revenue performance and identify opportunities for growth and efficiency. Maintain accurate records, reports, and operational documentation. Demonstrate initiative in identifying new markets and partnership opportunities. Coordinate the community experience for the Center for Immersive Learning. This includes working Saturdays along with Friday evenings approximately 2-3 times per month. The work weeks will be adjusted appropriately. Support the overall success of the college by performing related duties as assigned.REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with strong attention to detail. Financial management experience including budgeting and revenue tracking. Strong networking, presentation, and relationship-building skills. Entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive, solutions-oriented approach. Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed. Passion for community engagement and partnership development. Confidence in representing and promoting event venues. Ability to work independently while collaborating across departments. Creative thinker with a drive to grow programs and participation.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in hospitality management, Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field (or equivalent experience).
